When I'm on the London Underground I count bags. A lot of men have no bag at all and some men have one bag. Very few men have more than one bag. It is the exact opposite with women. You hardly ever see a woman without a bag, they all have at least one, whilst many have two or more. It's not at all unusual to see men standing while women have a bag on the seat next to them. Who is really taking up all the space?

It's no big deal to sit however you feel comfy or drop your bags on a seat. Just open your mouth and ask if you can sit there. If the person refused, yeah they are complete dickheads but what's the harm in sitting comfortably if the seat next to you is empty?
