Think about the term "deadbeat dad" for a moment.

Think about all the scorn and vitriol heaped upon men who avoid being forced to support an unwanted child.

Realize that women who take their own steps to avoid being forced to support an unwanted child are at least as deserving of the same perception.

I just posted in r/childless on a post about a T-shirt saying “No forced Motherhood”.

I said it was great, and we should also have a shirt that says, “No Forced Fatherhood” with a picture of a full wallet behind it. I was instantly met with downvotes and vitriolic rage. These people are imbeciles, entertaining imbeciles, but imbeciles none the less.

I have thus elected to consciously shift my voting habits from center left to republican. They want to be self-righteous pseudo-intellectuals without empathy, that’s fine. They can be the architects of their own destruction and I can start voting for people I know will be against abortion. There’s a noticeable cultural shift on the subject, and they need all the help they can get. Unfortunately their hubris will ensure they are humiliated for years to come, and I can live with that.

If you have an abortion, there's a stigma

Yeah, when some people think you've committed a form of murder, that will throw a moral pall over your character to them, won't it?

If you have a baby outside of marriage or as a teen, there's a stigma.

And everyone knows that the baby will suffer as a result of that bad decision. There really ought to be stigma around that one. Oh, and it applies to men too, if they are identifiable. The person who wrote this came from a larger town or city, I expect.

If you get married and don't have babies, there's a stigma

It doesn't really seem to be "normal", and people can be remarkably cruel to those who make abnormal choices. Is this stigma the same sort of stigma as the previous two? No? Perhaps it has a different cause. Also, this last stigma also applies to men as /childfree will attest.

Its not men's fault that we dont get our rights to abortion. Its fucking americas fault, and its conservatives' fault. To be specific, its the fault of the rusty old fucking shits who still manage to hold office after just being spiteful for years and years.

Those people are holding women back from their bodily rights. AND who are holding unwilling fathers accountable for something they likely would have liked to prevent. But then EVERYONE just voting to get terrible old men out of politics would remedy this, so maybe we should all band together and just do that instead of point fingers at people with different genitals than you.
