I mean she does have a point though, you were clearly in the wrong, she has actually encouraged me to change up my lifestyle a little bit. Personally I'm never going to wear a seatbelt again because if someone hits me head on while we're doing 60 down the freeway it's their fault. While I'm at it I'll just take the doors off of my home because if someone robs me and murders my family, its clearly their fault and not my stupidity of taking absolutely no precautions of preventing an incident that happens to vulnerable people every single day.

Women need to be responsible for taking care of themselves, they can't just palm it off on someone else when it suits them, and say "whoops i just got raped/murdered, guess someone should have taught you not to rape/murder"

Sorry to hear that. Personally i think you're better off, the post you were responding to is a good example of the attitude, as well as why you were banned. Or censored, i should say.

I was never taught not to rape, i wasn't even taught to not murder, i have done neither of these things. I was taught simple empathy, however, hat doesn't mean i don't take responsibility for my actions or that i don't expect others to take responsibility for theirs.

The attitude is pretty well summed up as thus: some years ago, when i was a teenager, myself and a girl were having a rather heated disagreement, there was much shouting, and hit me in the face a couple times, i hit her back once, laid her out, she cried. I received a lot of blame despite not initiating the physical confrontation, expected to just allow myself to get beaten up.

What utter bullshit, you don't roll up and start kicking a bear, because if you do, you expect to get mauled. Don't blame the bear for your stupidity.

There are things we all do to protect ourselves in one way or another, we don't just expect things to go perfectly our way. Saying that taking precautions is shifting responsibility is, ironically, shifting responsibility.

I was not banned but everytime got my comments censored/deleted I think it was on r/TwoXChromosome where the mildest comment that is not : "This! so much this!!" gets controlled or something.. I was still new on reddit and didnt know why we couldnt discuss and give counter arguments.

I (as a female and former feminist), got banned for creating a post asking why victim blaming is worse for women (While pointing out that it still happens to men for the sake of sticking to the facts/evidence I had compiled). After being told I was banned for derailing, I politely pointed out that I didn't understand why I had been banned as I was asking why this issue is worse for women (Only showed the men's side to point out how it's not as bad for them, and actually make my point relevant), and got muted my the mods. If this is how they reacted to my post, I can now absolutely understand why modern feminism is an issue since there are far bigger issues concerning men that they clearly don't want to hear or consider.

So you identify with the woman (probably a feminist) who posted that? That's the other side, right?

BTW, I'm pretty sure I've seen this elsewhere and the poster was a woman, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
