HOWEVER, be aware that the MRM is probably NOT what you think.

We¹ totally disagree with the feminist view of society; that women are oppressed by men. We don't claim that men are oppressed by women. We reject the whole concept that society is an oppressor/oppressed dynamic split along sex/gender² lines.
We claim that historical forces have led to societies that place different rights (actions the individual can claim from the state) and responsibilities (actions the state can claim from the individual) depending on their sex.
We do not claim that this is oppression, merely an artifact of evolution (both biological and social). We also do not claim that feminists caused this.
We, generally, agree that women's liberation is a good thing, that freeing people from strict gender roles is a positive move for a society, as the historical forces that constrain gender roles do not always still pertain.
However, we find that while women have been liberated, men are still forced into gender roles. 'Our' aim is to free men, to allow men the individual liberties that women have gained in the last 50-ish years.
Men are still EXPECTED to work to support a family, either as husband and father or through state enforced alimony and child support.
We fight for the rights of children to have access to their fathers, and the rights of fathers to have access to their children.
We believe that non-consensual, medically unnecessary surgical procedures carried out on infants is WRONG. It is a violation of the right to bodily integrity, it is barbaric, regardless of the sex of the victim.
As I pointed out above, we do not hold that feminists caused these issues. We do claim that feminists, holding on to an ahistorical view of history, act to dismiss or suppress any discussion by men about their issues.
We hold that many feminist issues are nonsensical:

The wage gap. Sure, if you average ALL men and ALL women there is a difference. That does not account for women choosing ON AVERAGE more 'people oriented' jobs than 'thing oriented'. It does not account for women TENDING to prefer part time work. It does not account for the fact that higher paying jobs are often the most dangerous.

95% of workplace deaths are men.

66% of the homeless are men.

Domestic violence is NOT a gendered issue. The stats are about 50/50. In fact, the highest incidence of DV is among lesbian couples, the lowest among gay male couples.

Rape is NOT a gendered issue. Feminist theory of 'rape culture' hides male victims (whether raped by a male or female) and female victims of female rapists.

Rape culture is a nonsensical idea. The only way western society normalises rape is the rape of men.

'Manspreading", "mansplaining" and the like are all first world problems.

In my lifetime, feminist rhetoric has shifted from "male chauvinism", to "sexism", to "misogyny". Ie, the net result of 50 years of feminism is that society now, apparently, hates women.

¹ By 'we', I'm talking about the MRM consensus, as far as I understand it, based on what I have read on this sub, a Voice for Men, and videos by /u/GirlWritesWhat and others. Hopefully others on this sub can chime in with other resources including (I hope) some that counter MY claims of the consensus. I don't claim to speak FOR the MRM, or any other individual MRA.

² By 'Sex', I refer to physical sexual characteristics, the biological component of identity. By 'Gender', I refer to the social, performative components. I try to be consistent in this usage.

However, this will likely not be the best place to find red pillers, that would probably be r/theredpill. We are Men's Rights Activists/Advocates (MRAs).

This should not be confused with Redpillers, there is a difference. It can be confusing, as our intro to the Mens Rights Movement (MRM) is a documentary called The Red Pill.

I am sure you are aware of the Matrix red pill analogy, which stems from Plato's Allegory of the cave. There is a similarity in that we (redpillers and us) are both claiming to be "awakened" to the issues in society, but in different ways.

I would encourage a viewing of The Red Pill documentary and viewing the sidebar here for more resources. The mods added some great resources and discussions of central issues, which should help clear up some confusion and give a better idea of what we are about.

Just a point to add, men's rights and the red pill are not the same thing, in fact it's an often used tactic against us the conflate us with TRP or MGTOW.

Right- Let's check your biases and background. Please answer the following questions.

Who wrote "The Fraud Of Feminism" and in which year?
What is the primary difference between Suffragists and Suffragettes?
When did the UN change their mandate to recognise Men and Boys as victims of Rape and Sexual Violence during conflict and forced displacement?
Which country has had the Longest Running International Men's Day?
When is International Men's Day?
When was the First International Men's Day held?
Where were the dogs of Erin Pizzey shot?

If you are doing an Ethnographic Study you will probably need those facts, so let's see if you are up to digging them out. Some are easy, some are trick questions and some are deliberately hard.

You'll find that MRAs are actually very helpful, but we don't suffer either fools or diletantas. It's a level playing field place, and if you are going to carry out a Bias-ridden Ethnographic Study it's best we root it out now so we don't waste our time and support.

I'll do it but I am not a red piller. I have a loving girlfriend and do not beleive that it's men vs women. I just know that men lack many rights women currently have (like bodily integrity) and by wanting to extend these rights to men we are not harming women.
