I wanted to ask this question because I recently wrote an article about the legality of prostitution on my blog. In researching the article, I learned that there's somewhat of a divided on this topic among feminists.

As it stands, there are two competing philosophies. The sex-positive brand sees legalizing sex work as part of the process for empowering women. Many who lobby for the legalization or decriminalization of sex work subscribe to this philosophy.

On the other side are the sex-negative types who see prostitution as always inherently exploitative, regardless of situation or context. It doesn't matter if a woman verbally consents to sex work, this type of feminism still sees it as inherently harmful and damaging to women as a whole. They're the types who aren't just against prostitution. They're also the ones who lobby against pornography.

In reviewing both, I didn't really see much discussion among MRAs on the legality of sex work. Since sex work, in general, is often associated with women, that's understandable. However, there are male sex workers, as well as those who identify as transgender. While they're rarely mentioned in the media, they are still affected by laws regarding sex work.

Now, I understand legal sex work probably shouldn't have the same priority for MRAs as other issues, like circumcision, discrimination, or father's rights. But I think it's still part of a larger issue. And I wanted to get a feel for how MRAs, in general, see this issue.
