Unless she is willing to sit down and look at hard facts such an argument will never concede. And even with facts, it might be an issue for some to change their stance.

Its a gendered issue when it even remotely affects women but its a normal hardship when it affects men. The clear bias would be spotted in breast cancer vs prostate cancer attention and funding.

You're a regular contributor around here, so I believe you'll have no problem hearing that this is extremely commonplace.

We have a hell of a fight ahead of us. Women have proven themselves just as able as men beyond biological restrictions and physiology. We now want to be free of our role as beast of burden the way women were freed of their role as comfort tool.

But that's too extremely inconvenient. Women have the opportunity to have their cake and eat it too, and just like any other demographic that's just been used to a certain way of thinking and doing things, they're going to have a hard time seeing why anything should change that isn't an improvement for them.

I commend you for being a woman who supports the MRM. Like men who supported early feminism, you are integral to equality. Especially so when you are outspoken. For what we all hope to change, the next generation of sons and daughters might enjoy better lifetimes. Your friend doesn't have to like it.

It's really absurd when you consider the gigantic political/economic/academic machinery of feminism. They have been pushing feminist propaganda to us for generations, and people just gobble it up so easily. There's even a saying "women and children first". How could somebody possibly believe that society is anti-woman? How could feminism have become so big so easily unless society were obscenely pro-woman?!

The only conclusion I can come up with is that maybe I'm just not as easy to indoctrinate as most people. It's because I have always been somewhat anti-social. Everyone else wants that big sexy group power, but I only care about real power.

The point of arguing with people like these is not to change their minds, but to win over the audience.

If there's no audience, then it's an opportunity to practice - and have your own beliefs tested.

Either way, you did the right thing.

I've had hundreds of conversations like that.

There are only two things I hate even more than that:

A. But not all feminism is like that. Feminism is about equality! Not keeping men down!

(Go fuck yourself.)

B. Why are you so angry? You're a man. Your life is so easy! You don't know what it's like being a woman!

(Forgetting that they don't know what it's like being a man. Forgetting that twelve seconds ago they were raving mad about the Wage Gap.)

Women, and feminists, are incredibly inflexible in terms of their thinking. They simply do not know how to think outside of the box. They've never been challenged in their life on that subject, and they have no idea how to handle it with dignity. None.

I have had this same discussion. The woman I spoke to actually tried to register with the selective service act. She argues that MEN control congress and if they wanted to change the draft, they could. Had a similar talk with my sister who went further and said the draft, and war in general are not feminist issues because men are responsible for starting and fighting in wars. WTAF!

One thing I have found successful (only once, admittedly) is to ask what factors they considered when determining the world is unfair to women. And then asking them what men's issues they considered to make their conclusion.

Yeh, take the marriage proposal for example. It's a strange sort of oppressive domination when a man has to get down on his knees and give his slave, err, I mean woman, a diamond ring. Then he has to wait for her consenting 'yes'. Can't think of any other scenario where the master has to beg and bribe the slave to get what they want.

In these arguments, I always try to have some stats handy so that I can fall back on facts rather than opinions

E.g, the falsity of the gender pay gap, stats regarding male circumcision, and the greater percentage of women in middle income jobs in many countries compared to men

You can't logically argue someone out of beliefs they've been indoctrinated with by a cult. Your only choices are to give them time and there's a chance they may decide to exit of their own accord, or else you hire a deprogrammer.

Hi everyone.

I'm sure you get a lot of questions from random women.. I am genuine in my curiosity, and I would like to think of myself as a humanist-but I wonder what that means to your community.

I've been superficially aware of the mens rights movement, and feminism alike. I feel that society has been hard on both sexes. To be honest, I think both movements have a lot of ambiguity, and I wonder where strengths and self admitted weaknesses are, and if you think humanism can become a movement. Ideally, I want people to be allowed to be who they are.

I want to understand, I know we all have obstacles, and I can see why many, so many men don't feel heard. If you've seen too many posts like mine and are sick of it, I would appreciate direction if you have the time.

would it be okay to post this to your community? If I should just get out of here with my bleeding heart, feel free to tell me that too.

Anti-feminist and anti-women’s rights are two entirely separate things. One is against a disorganized, scattered, hate-filled and potentially dangerous movement, and the other is against women having control of their lives, and the same rights as men.

Anti-feminists are not anti-women’s rights.

So you think being raped or murdered is = to service? Btw when was the last fucking draft? The 60’s and 70’s 50+ years ago? My sister served, my mom served and so did many of my female friends. My sister’s commanding officer pushed her down stairs then stomped on her ankle breaking it. She got a settlement but was that fair treatment? Guess what most people would rather serve than be brutally raped, tortured and murdered. As for pay gap it exists in even female dominated jobs such as nursing and teaching. Better companies have less of a gap if you can find one where you aren’t being constantly harassed by coworkers and avoiding reporting it lest you are seen as a problem. Believe me I’d be a man in a heartbeat if I could. Nearly dying in childbirth isn’t fun either.
