what really bothers me is the rude way I was kicked out too. There was no "Thank you for helping so and so here but we don't allow men in the center." Instead all I got was "You have to go, men can't be in here."

I think this thread is being brigaded by a post in r/againsthatesubreddits (looking at you u/gasonfires.) Pretty sure this is against Reddit rules. Also this isn't a hate subreddit. There are too far many hateful people here but most of what we do focuses on how some issues hurt men. It's a shame they can't see that.

When I turned 50 I changed a lot of what I had been doing reflecting on a life lived and amongst those changes were to stop blindly giving/donating money to all charities (except for Habitat For Humanity which I'm still on the fence with).

My focus on giving and charitable participation has turned to men. It's staggering the contrast between the help offered to women/children versus men. It is a challenge of sorts that I offer up to anyone's to find a men's charity in your community that isn't coed or veterans based. Very difficult.

For now I'm working with a warming Center and with an automotive program that helps vets primarily because a lot of men benefit.

This is an idiotic and insensitive complaint. For several years I donated my legal services to women in a local shelter home. The horrific abuse at the hands of men which many of these women and their children suffered often went far beyond isolated instances or even a single abuser.

The women inside the shelter you invaded had no way of knowing your motives, intentions or purpose in being there and would have every reason to fear that you were someone's husband or boyfriend bent on dragging her out of there by the hair if need be. That's especially true at a shelter located at a place that's known to the public and I have no doubt that your mere presence scared the crap out of them. Staff knew that, though you still don't seem to get it, and you were rightly told in no uncertain terms to GTFO. I assure you that I would have been more rude to you than they were.
