So basically, what would you tell a feminist to politely say why you're an MRA?

There's no real polite way. Feminism is based on feels and MRA on facts, so there's no way to discuss politely as you'll be informing the feminist that reality is more important than their feelings.

I've found these two questions valuable to see if someone can start to enter a fact-based perspective:

1) Please enumerate any government-granted rights which men have and women do not have in equal or greater levels.

2) Please enumerate any government-enforced responsibilities which women bear which men do not bear in equal or greater levels.

Be sure to have a few answers when they ask you in return with the genders swapped.

I find the easiest topic to be domestic violence. There's a handful of topics where men truly get no support - none at all - and DV is one of them.

One of the many reasons I'm an MRA is that my Mom verbally abused my father for years, and on the one day he finally stood up for himself (he cuffed her on the back of the head after she mocked him for being a substandard parent in front of the entire house) ... she had him arrested.

At 10, this looked like Dad hitting Mom. At 15, it looked like I needed to know more about that story. At 30, I realized the sheer volume of social discrepancies that have to be necessary to allow the zero latitude if you're male, and near endless latitude if you're female, for this kind of situation to happen.

Don't say anything! Just go and learn from what they say and do. Bring a camera with you and record EVERYTHING! Then post it here and share it with us.

If you must do, I would say it's because men don't have equal rights. (Selective service/voting rights, male genital cutting, male reproductive rights, unequal protection under the law)

say you believe in equal treatment for everyone under the law, both men and women. Anyplace the law is not blind to gender is a place that needs fixing...isn't that something everyone can agree to?

Feminism only needs to fight for rights if men actually already have those rights.
