This supposed "journalist" spent a week on this story and still didn't figure out the difference between Red Pillers and MRAs? What a retard. Must be a feminist.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My bad. Will do in the future.

It doesn't even qualify as bad journalism. It's just bad opinion. It amazes me that vice has a huge following producing such idiotic content. Read an article about how "reverse racism" (racism against whites) isn't possible. Because reasons. The fantasy land some people live in almost sounds blissful.

What did you expect? She's a professional opeditor haha. Look at her linkedin. SAD

Red pill: MRAs are pussies. Their shit is all about whining over equality, won't get you laid at all. Here's how you trick bitches in to fucking you.

Vice: "Here's how you trick bitches in to fucking you" or "my time with the MRM".

[–]Mythandros 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't read this drek anymore. They all say the same thing anyways. "Men are bad.... because reasons. Women are great just because!". It's complete and total malarkey.

[–]Leinadro 13 points14 points15 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's their tactic.

Dont engage and talk aboit speculation and heresay as if it were fact or engage and specifically choose the outrageous nutcases to prop up as representation of the whole.

This is why they hate The Red Pill documentary. Its a film by a feminist that attempted to engage with mras and didnt claim that all she got was just death threats and hate in return.

Vice like most mrm critics are afraid of genuine engagement so as a result the most they will do is pick and choose which mras to acknowledge. The ones that will confirm their biases. Ths is why Paul Elam is literally the only mra most feminists can name. They want everyone to think his inflammatory nature represents all mras.

Fuck her. Her doing a piece on the TRP is about as objective as me doing a piece in feminism.

Who cares about her opinion

[–]-Master-Builder- 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Maybe spending a week on 2xchromesomes will give you a complete understanding of the struggle women have like only a week on a subreddit can.

[–]manifesto18 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Maybe.....however I would have to give a fuck about their struggle to spend the time

I do not

Therefore, I will stay right where I am at and double down with my "fuck her"

[–]-Master-Builder- 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Because of my sarcastic comment about how one week in the presence of a very select group of people does not give someone insight to 50% of the worlds population?

[–]manifesto18 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Misread

I Spent a Week Hanging Out On a Men's Rights Activist Forum

No, you spent a week hanging out on "The Red Pill" a pickup artist forum...it has as much to do with "Mens Rights" as AmazingRibs.com has to do with Animal Rights.

This is what passes for journalism. Pretending you spent a week immersed in a subject that you immediately make obvious you neither spent a week in it, nor did you even understand you weren't even looking at the right subject material.

[–]Aaod 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I prefer the South Korea and North Korea analogy.

That's because they know that people will sympathise if they actually talk to people on this subreddit. So they go straight to the extremists who they can use and hold up as an example of what MRA's 'believe' and have been doing this for years now.

I think as well it's wrong to assume everybody on this sub is an MRA. It's not an organisation or an activist group, despite what self-proclaimed MRAs might say, it's a movement, people who are against these man-hating feminists are from all across the political compass. I'm an Anarchist, not an MRA but I will stick up for the people here because they're just sick of websites like this who attack anybody that disagrees with them and tries to outright slander them, not only that it's simply a matter of believing in rights for men as well as women, a concept these fanatics are incapable of wrapping their heads around.

It's like when I tell people I'm a centrist, because people are so tribal about their beliefs, you can only be right or left wing in their heads. The same goes for here, feminists genuinely believe that if you are for women's rights you are a 'feminist' and somehow thing that by being for men's rights or are against feminists you 'hate' 'women'.

The fact that I have even made this post on this subreddit will indicate to you precisely why they don't post here or try to engage with any of us. They're afraid of their man-hating propaganda being broken if the people who read only their kind of website actually read what goes on here rather than being scared away they would start deserting them in droves.

This is why they do what they do and why they paint anybody who agrees with Men's Rights as evil monsters, because if they didn't people wouldn't listen to them anymore and they'd lose their power. Like they're losing all of their power now that Trump has been elected, this is how cults operate, through self-segregation from other ideas and isolationism, they're teaching people to fear the unknown basically.

Let's see, typically with these they go to the red pill and pretend it's the MRM.

Let's just check and.... Yep.

Every single time.

Feminists can't be criticized by the actions of feminists because "no true feminst".

But any random male is the spokesbro of the MRM even if they staunchly deny having anything to do with it.

[–]Juan_Golt 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Circular logic is all authors like these need. I know that MRAs are misogynists, so whenever I find misogynists they must be MRAs. Doesn't have to even be MRA 'extremists'. Just anyone who is male and has a bad opinion instantly becomes an MRA. Remember when "MRAs are boycotting Mad Max!" because RoK posted one article. RoK explicitly says they aren't MRAs. Didn't matter.

Yet we can point to the Duluth Model which was a system explicitly created with feminist academic principles applied to domestic violence, and the answer is NAFALT. We can point to nationwide organized groups of hundreds of thousands of feminists like NOW opposing equal parenting in multiple states. NAFALT. Several campuses can shut down MRA talks under pressure from feminist groups NAFALT. National leaders who are feminist can stand up and refuse men and only men refugee status, but 'feminism is just about equality'.

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I argued with one a week ago who insisted the new red pill movie (unrelated to r/TRP) must be misogynistic because it was defended by CAFE. And CAFE only defends misogynistic things, like the new red pill movie.

It was almost that blatant. But they refused to see why everyone was calling it circular logic.

[–]Juan_Golt 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

And conversely that anything feminist must be good. If whatever policy doesn't turn out to be 'good' it is inherently not feminist. Because feminist is good. Even the person in question is screaming I'm a feminist, while they apply the principles they learned in women's studies, and supported by thousands of people organized under feminist banners. If the result is bad or unequal then it instantly becomes 'actually it's patriarchy because we found out a few guys were involved.'

This is how we get feminists fighting against parenting equality for decades because 'fathers rights is the abusers lobby, giving men patriarchal power to control their families!' Now times are changing the same people are saying: 'courts are only biased because childcare is seen as women's work, it's patriarchy!'

It's Vice. Everyone knows they're shit.

[–]iongantas 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've really never noticed "low key sexism" on any subs I frequent. I have occasionally noted over the top sexism by feminists and SJWs.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amazing how she can have such good understanding of key trp concepts after a month. Oh, wait, she understands them, because trp is all about human nature.

A simple Google search will tell you anything you need to know about her:

Hyphenated last name. She's not married; it's from having a pussy for a father and likely a henpecking mother.

Perpetual intern. The only reason she even gets those jobs is because her father works for a national newspaper. Please. Tell me more about my privilege, Ruby.

She owns one shirt apparently, it says 50:50 parliament, but really probably means >50:50 parliament. She's of course obsessed with genitals like all feminists.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Writer's twitter is filled with the usual 'trump', 'misogyny' lack of facts band wagon rhetoric. She probably wrote her article before she did any research.

And then imagine him getting slightly offended about my generalisation of a large group of men. That's a typical reddit user.

Yeah i can't think of any other group of people that get their panties in a wad over generalizations of a large groupe of people....

[–]rocelot7 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And then imagine him getting slightly offended about my generalisation of a large group of men.

Oh, the irony. My biggest compliant about this piece was that it's stupidy never lead to humour. Girls like this consently throw the word sexism around and never figure out what that word actually means.

You keep using that word. I don't think that word means what you think it means
