What a narcissistic monster.

A male scientist makes a joke about women in the lab and he is destroyed.

A female, feminist author talks about her mentally ill son as an anchor who she "peeled his drowning fingers off of me and saved myself". Nothing.

You weren't drowning bitch. You were ignoring your kid as he died.

It seems as if she prioritized herself so much that she didn't even go to her own son's funeral most likely to "protect" her own mental health. I'm guessing she was just too lazy and ambivalent.

This is insane. Imagine if anyone who identified as an MRA wrote a similar article.

Imagine how different things would have been if Burchill had a daughter who killed herself. I'm guessing she would have spent a bit more effort in her battle against the patriarchy. Her son unfortunately was born male so fuck em.

When people freak out if you say you're an anti-feminist, tell them about Julie Burchill. If they're a feminist already, don't bother, they won't listen.

The Sunday Times said that Burchill's fee for the piece would be donated to two suicide charities - Calm, which works to prevent male suicide, and Sobs which works with bereaved families

I guess she's changed her mind about the importance of male suicide.

Something she said in her previous article, linked elsewhere in the comments here, suggests that the normal courtesy which should be extended to people in such situations need not apply to her:

"The last time I suggested that suicides should be left to get on with it, I received a small number of letters from people whose sons had killed themselves. All of them demanded an apology. I'd advise them this time to save their stamps because, you see, I don't care."

How hard up is her current husband? He has to go to bed every night knowing his wife slept with his sister, repeatedly, while his sister interned for her AND that his wife has left multiple families in the lurch.
