Some of the results are hilarious. It is the same as easy access to fast food causes marriage to weaken, as women do not know how to cook anymore.

There are a multitude of reasons why men do not want to get married, porn allows men who do not have access to women an outlet for their pent up sexual frustration, and why many serious sexual crime rates have gone down.

Blaming porn for societal expectations, and demands on men is idiotic. Looking at all the penalties which come from marriage for men, is why more and more men say "I don't".

I really hate how everyone always find ways to blame men. They never say that females need to clean up their act or that the divorce laws need to be changed to make marriage less risky for men. No, instead they complain that porn is making men less desperate.

In Germany the mommy-nazi court systems are as much to blame as anything else. If you're a German male you have to be insane to have more than one or two kids. The risk is just too high.

I see that news, finance, and educational sites have nearly identical correlations to lowered marriage rates. That's pretty hilarious. Should those be banned, as well? But in all seriousness, these are just quack studies that blame wet roads for causing rain.

I partly agree, and I also partly think that the real men's liberation will come when Vasalgel and other safe, reliable men's birth control methods become widely available. If women found themselves in a world where BS accusations of paternity could be swatted away with a doctor's note, there'd be social upheaval.

I hate beginning comments with a cliché, but correlation is not causation.

I agree with your premise that pornography can provide a sexual outlet for guys who've chosen not to marry or pursue long-term relationships with women, but I'd say it's going too far to view porn as some sort of magic bullet that will "save" guys from marriage until the power imbalance in relationships is corrected.

Even the Washington Examiner article just points to a couple of studies making the observation that marriage rates have decreased and porn consumption has increased over the same period. The article's author and the people doing the research seem to be suggesting a link, but they don't cite any evidence for a direct link other than the correlation itself. It seems to me like they've decided that porn is a causal factor in the decline of marriage because that's the answer they were looking for, not because it's actually the answer.

There's a huge array of factors playing into men's choice not to commit to marriage or relationships that involve cohabitation. I don't think easy access to porn is one of them. There's a possibility that the rise in porn consumption might be PARTIALLY a result of the number of single guys out there, but the fact that porn consumption has gone up is probably more due to the fact that it's a lot more easily available now than it used to be even in the early days of the internet, not to mention before.

There's not enough evidence to contend that the correlation indicates a direct causal link either one way or another.

But then, I'm gay, so what do I know about how you straight fellas deal with sexual frustration?
