Female probation officer sexually assaults two detained boys (aka caged children). Word "rape" never used, of course.

India executes only men since 1955. Woman hills 7 people (including children) and is sentenced to death. CNN blames patriarchy: "women who violate entrenched norms of gender behavior are more likely to receive the death penalty." If no woman has ever been executed, how do they conclude this?

New Covid19 stimulus bill has 15 women-only provisions, ZERO men-only provisions. For example, grants to help small businesses "shall prioritize awarding grants to eligible entities that are small business concerns owned controlled by women."

What I find funny about this is not just that this all started because a non-MRA suggested his audience boycott the film, but the reactions were like "oh manbabies think women in a film mean its a feminist film har har har", even though Eve Ensler was brought to the set by the director to talk to the cast then told everyone it was a feminist movie pushing a feminist message, and that one day they won't have to be sneaky about it.

From reviews I've seen it's just another action movie. I'm not sure why they think it's feminist, from what I can see there's plenty of tropes against women they are arbitrarily deciding to overlook. Such as, damseld women being rescued by a man and need his help to do something/get away from the bad men. In the last Mad Max, wasn't a woman leading a whole town? Strong women in Mad Max was already part of the universe, wasn't it? Their idea of what is and isn't sexist seems completely arbitrary.

Also you always hear about how the "patriarchy hurts men too" and that one of those ways is the idea that all men are beasts and men can't show their nurturing emotional vulnerable side. So if this is a feminist film surely it's propagating the idea that most men really are violent rapist beasts, and therefore propagating the "patriarchy". From what I've seen of it, it doesn't really seem to challenge how we see men and women all that much. Just the same old thing, except with a bit more "girl power". If they wanted to really challenge our notions of gender, they'd depict women being just as ruthless as the men, and show men in a better light. I'll see it soon though.

I saw it, you are spot on.

I agree, but I'd like to note something. Tropes about women =/= tropes against women. I have a friend who actually likes being that damsel in distress. I don't tell her boyfriend, but I can see how she manipulates him by being a damsel in distress. Nonetheless, a trope about women needing to be rescued shouldn't be misconstrued as misogynist or anti-women.

I'll clarify, I mean the tropes they say are against women.

Fair play to them, they allowed comment, listened and acted upon what they heard. Thats far better than any of the other sites that knowingly support this lie.

Avfm have been doing a pretty good job of pointing out the truth to the 1000s of people that are visiting them based on these articles.

What I find funny about this post is his short Bio.

I'm welsh, but don't hold that against me.

I'm sort of at a loss for words.

Looks like they published an editor's note acknowledging the error. Well done on being civil, everyone.

Furthermore, MundaneMatt actually raised a really good point about whatserface from the Monologues doing consulting on the script. Apparently the pre-existing screenplay involved this group of women who had been raped and whatnot by totalitarian rulers. The writers were having trouble writing convincing lines for these women, and they wanted to have this woman consult using her firsthand experience with victims of a similar situation in the Congo. Seems pretty reasonable to me.
