That's interesting to see. Most of these seem to be small countries but a few larger ones. Historically true of the UK for example too, and not all that long ago. I wonder how widespread it is and was.

Wonder how feminists explain how it's the "privileged" males who are criminalized but not the "oppressed" women?

Male-male sodomy laws in said countries (and still in place in the US) have been created primarily by straight, evangelical Christian men and their followers...Against other men who are gay.

While lesbians may legally get a pass in the third-world counties mentioned...They really don't. Lesbians are expected to lie back and bear children whether they like it or not...And if they don't like it, they get raped and/or murdered.

Gay men get imprisoned and/or murdered.

This isn't a gender issue...This is a gay issue.

The gender empathy gap (otherwise known as female empathy privelege - which I'm not denying women pay a significant price for) means that males of marginalised groups tend to be more marginalised/victimised than their female counterparts. I'm currently compiling a big list of evidence for this, but everything I've come across points in this direction - which btw, completely undermines feminist intersectionalist theory.

Goes back to Warren Farrell's Idea of women having a glass ceiling but men having a glass cellar - I.e The males at the top are likely to have it better than any female, but the males at the bottom are likely to have it worse. Also ties into a lot of ideas from evolutionary psychology aswell...

With these kind of laws its not that being gay and male is immoral and being gay and a woman is fine, its more that in their eyes lesbian sex just isn't a thing that exists.

Then you have highly religious countries where men are the alpha...it's pretty clear why.

This is nothing to do with it being fine for lesbians, only homophobic nonsense. Quite honestly it's usually just fine for lesbians because women are seen as subhuman, no one cares what they do, or no one thought it would be a concern when they made the laws. Maybe they don't even think of it as sex.

Stopped at Mauritius. Article says death by public stoning which just didn't sound correct at all so i looked at wikipedia. There is almost no law at all there regarding homosexuality and LGBT people are protected from discrimination. There is anti sodomy law which is not enforced if acts are in private. Buzzfeed sucks. I could beieve it about Mauritania, which IS a hellhole.
