Samuels has a history of making such claims. In 2002, she made false claims to police, but later admitted it was so her mother would not find out she had slept with a Kosovan man.

In the same year, she phoned police saying she had been raped in a public toilet and also made a hoax fire call to 999.

Just think, if you'd taken this seriously from the start two of these may have been prevented.

/she must be really empowered at this point.

CCTV from the Last Post and a nearby off-licence showed no sign of Samuels at the time she claimed to be there, and the friends she claimed she was with on the evening were found not to exist.

This is the result of "Listen and Believe". People are so hesitant to question a "rape victim" at her word that despite crime scene footage showing the accuser wasn't even present and her inventing acquaintances wholsesale, it still took a year for the accused to have his name cleared.

I'm curious... what exactly is the process for addressing a problem in the legal system where the punishment does not fit the crime?

Our legal system seems to often treat this as mere perjury, and may even count the waste of taxpayer dollars in police effort and court time as the most serious part of the crime.

It ignores the thing that she was trying to do - she attempted to have this man kidnapped and held prisoner for years. If she had succeeded in doing this privately, she'd be spending decades in prison. If she had arranged for other criminals to kidnap him and hold him prisoner but was caught by police, she'd be facing a long sentence as well.

But somehow because her method of attempting kidnapping involved using the police and our legal system, it's no big deal and the woman often gets just a slap on the wrist. How does that make any sense?

Still, it's great to see that some progress is being made, and this one woman is getting more than a slap on the wrist at least.

Another manatee who thinks she's worth a rapist's time. Seriously, if you are not fuckable you are not rapable. Given that the stress of the thing caused the victim's girl to lose their unborn baby she should be given the death penalty, though that aint gonna happen even in the US much less in the UK where they don't have the death penalty.
