Sorry to hear that you've been kicked from the feminist discussion for expressing your opinion.

Having read your writings, I would actually agree with you that this sub can be negative (you said whiny) in a way that is unnecessary. However, educating rather than silencing would seem to be a better method. You seem to be willing to participate in that, so thank you for that.

I agreed with your points regarding custody and false rape accusations. There is nothing more frightening than hearing someone tell you that if they don't get their way, you'll be accused of rape. Both men and women will sometimes lie to get their way.

For what it's worth, I'm a generation older than you and have never participated in a single ideologically-oriented online community, male or female, that didn't degenerate into insane bitchery and grudge-holding. I enjoy IRL feminists quite a bit, and if I'm ever lucky enough to meet an IRL MRA, I suspect that relationship will also be productive ;-)

I also post in /r/feminism. Not often, but sometimes. I guess the important thing to remember is to not let your experience with a group of people on a silly little website affect your views on the movement as a whole.

For what it's worth, one of the larger differences I see between this sub and the primary feminism sub is that it is more friendly to critiques of the MRM. To me the primary feminism sub and it's related askfeminists seem to act or operate more like safe space/echo chamber (though this sub can be guilty of that as well). I will admit that I did see a decent thread eliminated, but was archived by a mod on the ask forum.

But to be honest, I'm somewhat conflicted. the inherent need for a safe space itself doesn't offend me, but with feminism's push for equality (or so they say), discourse with people having skeptical options or critique should be encouraged. But maybe that's just my background as a scientist talking.

I'm really sorry to have to do this, but I have to remove this post. Under our rules, posts like this are banned, and there is a good reason for that.

The reason is that every time someone puts up a post about being banned from r/feminism, some of our members go over there and make trouble. Then they get shadowbanned - example - and the admins get mad at our subreddit.

We don't want any of that. So posts about being banned from /r/feminism or any other subreddit are against our rules.

You might,however, find that /r/SRSsucks would welcome such a post, since their members know better than to go on a jihad against another subreddit.

I actually find the most redeeming quality of the MRM to be its no-holds-bar attitude in criticizing feminism for what it is. One of the worst parts of the MRM is its pettiness and its near-mirroring of feminist narrow perspective on gender issues. And what drives me even craziers about the MRM is the way they attempt to distance themselves from MGTOW or RedPillers as if those movements have some underlying misogynist component. They don't. They're simply a comfier place for some misogynists to reveal their true colors... doesn't mean people who identify with other attributes are misogynists.

I guess I come from a different place... I'm an anti-ideologue. Any self-delusion and confirmation bias riles me up. I honestly think all these groups, RPs, MGTOWs, MRAs, moderate feminists, radical feminists, sex-positive fems, sex-negative fems, etc... need to gain from perspective and escape their bubble.

Another thing the MRM is doing right is trying to readdress some systemic imbalances in justice. It just so happens that isn't at the top of my concerns. I fear the long-term effects of the cultural zeitgeists much more.

FYI: Feminism does not equal women's rights. Many women rationally oppose it and WRAs in other countries often criticize it for focusing solely on trivial bullshit.
