It doesn't really matter. Is a girl going to care if Chris Hemsworth takes her to coffee, drinks, bowling, sewing class? No. It's about the experience you provide her, your frame, not the beverages or items in front of you. Those are simply a reason to meet where your charismatic aura will give her a taste of her new addiction.

Coffee is an alright place to start. But have a plan as to where to take it. Don't sit around for too long, you lose any inertia. Look for live music. Comedy shows. Some activity. And have a plan to pull.

2) go for a walk, hold hands, go for the kiss

3) pull back to your place with the, "I'm going back to my place to bake some cookies. Wanna help?"

Surprised at some of these answers, fellas... but coffee dates are actually great and are an important tool in the arsenal. When you are juggling multiple plates (or y'know cheating on an actual gf), you will find there are only so many hours in a day and only so many days in a week - subtract a few of those evenings for solitary pursuits or non-pussy related duties and all of a sudden you could find yourself trying to juggle Jane, Sheila, Cynthia and Lisa in a three day window. This is where a.m. pimping comes in and coffee dates coupled with a bracing morning stroll are a great way to make an impression on a mark... first of all, little to none of your competiton is doing it, so you set yourself apart immediately. Secondly, if you are able to locate a non-chain cafe and/or a lesser known venue for a stroll, it will create a story in her head in which you are the star! (Anecdotal note: I used almosy exclusively a.m. entanglements like coffee or breakfast dates to wheel a smoking hot Persian personal trainer I destroyed and didn't even phase in drinks until it was time to seal the deal).

Unlike other commenters I actually like coffee dates because it's a lower time and money investment and I'm not wasting a valuable friday or saturday night on a girl who might not pan out.

But it's all about my impression of her. If it's a girl who I think is a slut then I'm definitely choosing drinks. A "nicer" girl, then I'm probably gonna do a coffee date or another type of day date.

Nah. Take her bowling, than to the Cheesecake Factory, than to a field to lay down and look at the stars.

Bowling = fun expierence

Cheesecake Factory = semi romantic setting to get to know each other

Field with stars = perfect for escalation

Coffee dates are great for me because of my logistics. I have a coffee shop close to my house next to the beach. I know alot of the personal there, so I have social proof. And I have plausible deniability to "go for a walk along the water" which makes us end up at my house

Dirty talk over texts then meet up somewhere. If you can't get to the point where you're dirty talking during text, don't bother meeting up.
