And that is the extent of the explanation they give as to why she only got five years in jail for: rape, drug possession, dealing drugs, and manslaughter, while the guy got life.

She took a plea deal to testify against him. Still 5 years is way low, I'm surprised they gave her such a lenient deal.

Though, to be fair, if this has any truth to it, him putting a hit on her makes me think the husband may have been a bit worse off than the wife.

Millerberg had an unstable mother, started drinking at 13 and later turned to drugs, her attorney said. She was abused by Eric Millerberg as well as by a previous husband. She nevertheless finished high school, earned a nursing degree and bought a home, he said.

I'd seriously like to see the evidence of abuse. Because this honestly sounds like it might've just been some BS. They don't say anywhere else that the husband had a prior record, a history of violence, or anything else of the sort. The only thing they mention is the drug use, and not even that he has a history or drug use so much as that according to his wife's testimony he was the one who injected drugs into the babysitter.

This paints the wife as if she had no part in this at all. Even though she clearly had drug problems but was also functioning enough to finish high school and college. So she's a druggie with her head on her shoulders, but was clearly just a victim in all of this? Bullshit.

No see. Having sex and doing drugs with a minor is a felony. It is rape and So anything that happened during the comission of a felony is charged to both parties. And is prosecuted just as vigorously.

The best example is a two man armed robbery when one of the robbers shoots and kills the victim being robbed. The robbery is a felony, although only commited by one person the murder will be charged to both of the suspects. The argument that one is actually responsible is crazy. It would never work for a male.

Here, a female getting 5 years for murder and rape of a minor is an extreme example of a pussy pass.

Two men where one simply "helped" to dispose of the body but was there during the sex and drugs would get life as well.

This is disrespectful to the victim, the victims family, and our justice system.

Not to say that that information is necessarily accurate or unbiased, but there seems to be an indication he was more proactive in the commissioning of the crime? It suggests he injected the victim, whereas the wife helped transport the body (a lesser offense, though given her involvement in the drug use she probably deserves more than 5 years in jail).

The article also says he beat her (not to say that's an excuse for her obvious involvement in a horrible crime, but it suggests her participation may have been coerced).

Is it really a men's rights issue? Or a case of a woman possibly being less responsible in the commissioning of a two-person crime?

Unbelievable to think that that woman will be out in just 5 years or less. I would not feel safe in the same room as her.
