despite feminism being an active force for longer than the oldest among us have been around, one has yet to see examples of large amounts of women going for short feminine guys who break gender roles by acting feminine in front of women. i dont see many women who find their own antics attractive in a male, and even fewer would find their own height and face structure et cetera desirable in a male partner compared to men who seek out masculine women. it's also why r/rolereversal is almost all horny men: i don't see many women eager to break gender roles that'd require them to break a sweat.

it can be safely assumed that those things are simply very rare or nonexistent because otherwise feminists would have flooded us with statistics and examples.

As a so-called "blue haired progressive," I think we're at a weird time for gender expectations that makes it very difficult to navigate.

The expectations surrounding women have utterly shifted. For example, it is considered desirable to be educated, necessary to be employed, and relatively self-sufficient. This is the expectations in my community. However, it may not be the case elsewhere.

For men, expectations have both doubled down and are largely resistant to moving. This is causing issues where a lot of women find most men to be unsuitable partners because they are not really able to provide much "value" to their lives whilst more traditional minded women can kind of have their pick.

I think gradually these expectations for men are changing and will eventually come to an equilibrium but it takes time, given how intertwined dating is with broader social norms.

As a progressive man dating women, this is also what I expect men to be. Why would I want to hang out with an shivering, insecure, follower, uncharming, weak, drama-king?

I also don't know any women in my circles who claim to not like those positive qualities in everyone, regardless of gender, in the first place. The issues they complain about is how some men go about performing those qualities, and certain other traditional male views.

This is true. Don't listen to what they say. What a woman is saying to you doesn't mean much. Watch what she does. Watch how women react to different men. If you want to be successful with women...and, maybe that's not even a worthy goal...but, if you do want that success then model yourself on the men that you SEE succeeding with women.
