So my marriage will officially be over this week when my attorney and I appear before the judge on Thursday. I have been writing a letter to my soon to be ex-wife and want to get your opinion on it or to see if I should even send it. I feel like I have had to walk on egg shells the whole time the divorce was pending, but now that things are over I really want to let her know how I really feel. A background of why I am getting divorced. I unexpectedly cheated on my wife in 2015 and she cheated on me in 2017 with another women. So she has said she is gay and wants to pursue that lifestyle. My indiscretion, came after a massage in a local parlor, meant nothing, but I was completely honest with my wife.
Here is the letter:
Dear (Name Omitted Intentionally),
We are officially longer husband and wife. I really didn't think this day would ever come; I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I loved you unconditionally and I wish your love was the same. Unconditional love is what a marrige requires, because every marriage has good times and bad times. I made a promise to you on MMDDYYYY to love you until the day that I die and I intend to keep that promise. I realize I hurt you and for that I am sorry. I am not 100% to blame for the dissolution of our marriage. I have been hurt many times. I was hurt by the lack of emotional connection between us. In 11 1/2 years of marriage, you have never really opened up to me. I felt like you always had something to say, but never said it. Unfortunatley, I fell like our whole marriage was a lie. A lie based on your lack of feelings for me and your desire for women. You know my past, therefore, you know that I understand those feelings. But I find it extremely cruel to build a life and family with someonbe and then crush it all away. over your sexual orientation. A man cannot make a women homosexual. You have had these feelings since you were small and you had those same feelings on the day you married me. I wish I would have known 1 day before our marriage began, that you would rather live a homosexual life than a heterosexual life. I loved you then and I love you now. Included in that love is for you to be happy, that's why I have facilitated this whole divorce. But if I would have known 1 day before our wedding, I would have let you go then, so you could be happy. The one good thing that came out of our marriage are two beautiful kids, to which I would do anything for. But again, if I would have known 1 day before we decided to conceive our children I would have let you go, so you could be happy. Then in 2017 we bought our dream home. I know you thought it of our dream home because I saw the joy in you when we bought it. But again, if I would have known 1 day before we decided to buy our dream home I would have let you go, so you could be happy.
This is a work in progress that I am trying to decide if I even want to send it to my ex.
Please no negative comments. This is the lowest time of my life and I am just trying to get some advice.
