Going through a brutal custody battle. Me ex simply uses everything she can against me.
I was supposed to have my kids until 8:30 pm tonight (they’re all under the age of 8).
At 8:50 pm, she hadn’t picked them up or called, e-mailed or texted. I called her and emailed and said, “I’m putting them to bed at 9 if you’re not here.” I documented the call and email.
Btw - they stay over at my house all the time, just not tonight because she refuses to let me have a true 50-50.
At 9:15 they’re in bed and I get an email saying she over slept and is coming. She lives 20 minutes away.
I put the kids in bed and see the email at about 9:30. I email back and say the kids are asleep (and they are) and I’m not waking them up.
Side note - my ex has LONG complained that 8:30 was too late a time for parenting exchanges, so she has tried to make me pick up the kids at 2:30 (during my work day). In my mind, if 9 is too late for you to get home with them, 9:30-9:40 is even worse. Especially on a school night.
My ex calls the cops. She tries to get me to come out to speak with them, I ignore her emails and calls. I also ignore the calls from the police also.
She says she filed a police report that I violated the order.
Thoughts?
Of course, this has nothing to about what is best for the kids. She fucked up and she should just let them sleep, but now she is going to use it as a weapon.
