Basically had a Pretrial hearing today. The judge made it pretty clear that we shouldn’t have a trial and that he would rule in the way he set forth today. He mentioned that there would be a “trial tax” if we went to trial.

This is what I’m stuck with.

Every other weekend, Wednesday and Thursday dinners.

During the summer I’ll get Thursday overnights instead, and an “extra” week of summer vacation.

I’m just devastated.

I wanted 50/50, basically the ex refused. Her arguments were I lived too far away (I live six miles and fifteen minutes) and I had problems getting the kids ready for school (my son forgot his Chromebook one time….and he also did it at her house too).

That was it.

It literally came down to “since my ex doesn’t want to give you 50/50 and the GAL supports it, the judge is going with the gal recommendation.”

Because the judge believed her bullshit, get significantly less time with my kids.

Assets are mostly 50/50. She did lie and say she had $200,000 premarital in our combine account. I demanded proof. She said “these are documents that I tried to find and can’t.”

I said, “let me try to find them.” The judge then literally said “if we go to trial, and she says that there was $200,000, I’m going to find her credible and award it.”

I’m just devastated. Almost three years, over $250k spent, she dissipated assets, committed perjury, kept my kids from me and it comes down to “she doesn’t want you to have the kids, so we’re not going to give them to you.

And the judge made it clear that that was what he was going to award at trial, and I would be penalized for fighting it financially in the settlement.

This system is criminal.
