Assuming that you are already divorced and not paying any alimony then I’d say she’s shit out of luck on a settlement deal. CS might be modified but it’s based on your income not hers, again assuming she has majority custody. You better lawyer up again and find out the actual situation you could be faced with. If you know she’s going to fiddle disability with doing cash job and stick you with a higher bill, personally I’d grass her up to the IRS and let them investigate. I hate people who do that, they are nothing but thieves.

Depending on your state, you should worry about cs increasing. In my state, cs is computed using a joint income model and percentages. My income goes up, or hers goes down by a certain percent can increase or decrease cs if either party files a motion to change.

It takes some time to get approved for long-term disability and she could get denied.

Even assuming it goes through, your divorce has been settled, so I can't imagine it affecting the settlement agreement that you both signed off on. You might check the wording, but lawyers are usually pretty careful with the language to make sure everything is final.

The only exception I can think if would be a "status only" divorce, where you're legally divorced but still haven't settled all your financial affairs.

Is it her character to lie to not want to work? Or she realizing that working and kids is not fun as she thought it would be? Or is the medical legit? You know her best.

I don’t think she can do much as far as your concerned. You can consult and see what they lawyer says, but it’s not a short route for disability.

Always remember that women are like against, they like to start planting information for the prep for what they really have planned.
This is stage 1.

she would be foolish to do so. Getting disability via SSA is pretty straight forward.

If she sought to increase child support via family court she would need to demonstrate a great need, AND offer up medical evidence of said, not being able to work.

What works in your favor is that Judges are typically very reluctant to open up final decrees except in extraordinary circumstances. Example wife don't want to work not extraordinary, wife becomes quadriplegic can't work at the factory she was supervisor at making 80k? YES that is extra ordinary.

so I don't think you need to worry

Courts look at potential income. As if she can work full time. If she has a degree, type of job she currently working, certification, etc, the earning potential is higher. Typically will cost more in legal fees then what it will be worth for her to fight it. But many judges don't look at that aspect in the initial judgement and that is the only way I know men get to pay less for child support when they take back to the courts.

Good luck and remember lawyers are salespeople. And judges get money for each child support they give out. So it is in their best interest to judge for child support.
