I have an extremely cautious attitude toward women now. 11 months out of divorce and have no interest in dating. A ten year marriage where I was emotionally abused, used, and I made all the money and did all the housework. Was resented the whole time with a major attitude. She brought nothing but chaos, needless drama and also put us into bankruptcy. Then she left me for another man immediately after requesting separation. Obviously it all hurt.

If I didn't have kids with her I wouldn't have stayed. Now I have deep regrets but am so happy its over and I have peace. I do get lonely but don't want to risk getting in a similar situation of any kind. I've looked online for advice but only find red pill, gender war stuff. I just find it kind of juvenile, the equivalent of extreme feminism. Divide and conquer. But here I am, still cynical.

Now its gotten to the point that I just lack interest. I enjoy being solo and the thought of the chase exhausts me. The thought of being emotionally invested in another woman exhausts me. I maybe incorrectly assume many women could be transactional users like my ex and the thought turns me off. I have my guard way up. Do any women actually appreciate men at all? I know men have to do the courting, make the effort to win her over, and I have no motivation after I did it all once and got nothing out of it but a major setback to my mental, physical and financial health.

I'm on the right path with other things in my life, I'm exercising, seeing a therapist, feeling better in general. I wish I wasn't so closed off but I just have little faith out there to even try to date. And I know I'm not in the right mind set at all.

I'm sure many of you went through this. Did you get over it? I'm not looking to marry again. But I'd love to know if there are women that actually appreciate men and don't disparage them or are looking for a bailout after their own divorce.
