This is a long story I’m going to try and condense for reading purposes. Married 11 years, together 16, and know each other for 25 years, and we have a 20 year old son. We have separated twice for over a year each time, but per usual, after a month or so, we start talking and sleeping together and then I’m back in the house. This time around, I’ve been back in the house for a few years now and we have both seen this coming for a few months. It has gotten to the point where we can never agree and from what I’m told, I’m always in the wrong. She records every conversation, she has set up cameras in every “common” room of the house. She keeps track of my location via her second phone. I have no access to the video feed, audio recording, or her location. She has always worked from home and I own and operate a mid size construction company. With the help of rental properties and my business she has been able to work a job from home where she makes her own hours and works when she wants. After the last four weeks of constant arguing, she told me she has filed for divorce and I should be expecting the paperwork. She is coming after half of everything, my business account, personal and saving account, 401k, rental properties, every assets that is worth anything. Child support and alimony. She wants to split time with our son, but has no interest in making any contingency in regard to my job and our son’s school and vacation schedule. Somehow I need to make double the money while working half the time. Idk. Due to one of the rentals having an empty unit, I do have somewhere to go, but we are waiting until after Christmas for our son. She wants all of my stuff out our fairly large house, two living rooms, 4 bed, two bath, plus office space, and into a tiny little two bedroom. I’m handling it as best as I can, but today I woke up not doing well with the situation. We sit here in this house as if nothing is happening, being normal for our son, then 💥, she bring up me leaving and when, then she’s asking about going to my family’s house for Christmas, then back to talking about how I will never learn, it’s my tone, the way I speak, and how toxic I can be… then, what movie are we watching tonight. I know this will take time, but this morning it’s hurting.
