No she probably did not. Women generally tend to be able to move on more quickly then guys.

You have every right to go out and enjoy yourself.

I took a year plus a few months before I went on my first date. I focused on my kids and myself, did some therapy. I worked out a ton, started BJJ, Muay Thai and Boxing. And got back into a few hobbies.

Been on a few dates with a few different women since my divorce.

I learned that I’m very selective now. I’ve actually rejected a few women because I couldn’t see any future/lack of chemistry. It sucks but at the same time I’ve met a couple that I like and I’ll continue to see where it goes. Also, I’m on the look out for red flags.

I dated while separated. Finally went exclusive with an amazing woman, then I buckled under the pressure. Make sure you’re ready before you put your heart out there. If you find that special someone, but your affairs aren’t in order, you could end up like me... having a nervous breakdown and stuck in a deep depression after betraying the heart and sabotaging a whirlwind romance. Four months later I’m a pitiful shell of the man I was last summer. I’m sure that I’m likely a unique case, we all have different issues, but this being the year of hindsight, I can identify all my missteps during that period in my life. It was the best of times it was the worst of times. Take your time. Now I find myself once again rebuilding myself. Take care of your shit, relieve all your stressors, take care of yer kids, dial in that new home, establish your budget, keep your work in order... blah blah blah. My first date after being married for 12 years felt really odd as well and was a total disaster. I still feel sorry for that poor girl.. it does get easier, just need to get back into the groove. You are not doing anything wrong.

I understand the emotion. I’m going through my divorce. Women are reaching out to be friends and I am not ready to embrace it but I do like the friendship. My wife doesn’t communicate with me. I travel for business and she no longer txts me. But these friends do.

I don’t want to mislead these women, I don’t know what I want in the next chapter of my life. I need to rediscover who I am.

I’m torn about sex with other women. First, I’m not divorced yet so I don’t want to get into a commitment. Male friends have suggested a friend with benefits. How do you do that? I realize it’s supposed to be just sex but intimacy and passion has always been my desire of a sexual relationship

She probably didnt. Ive dated a bit and it just doesnt stick with me because Im just enjoying being alone and selfish. Nothing wrong with being alone and selfish.

Date when it feels right, dont if it doesnt, just do you and dont be too hard on yourself. Its healing time.

Good on you for having a conscience and residual loyalty--although sounds like your ex doesn't deserve them. Don't lose your own innate decency, but get used to moving on too. Step at a time.
