I'm a few months into my separation and retained a lawyer almost from the start. I have a couple of questions or concerns that I'd appreciate your thoughts.

1 - he is very slow in responding to my emails. It took him 2 weeks to answer my last email which contained important questions and concerns. It was only after I called the office and spoke to his office manager that he responded. His answers were good. He said that he gets over 100 emails a day and that my case is early in the process and not urgent.

2 - he said he communicated with opposing council in regards to financial disclosure and asked for 4 years of bank and credit statements. Should I be Cc'd on such communications or should have his email forwarded to me? How did it work for you guys to stay informed of the communication between lawyers? Should I also receive opposing council's response?

3 - for financial disclosure, ex spouse wants to hire a divorce accountant and get him to do a joint financial disclosure for both. We have lots of assets and some contentious financial disagreements. I've already started accumulating needed information for disclosure and have completed about 70% of it. Ex spouse is disorganized and tuned out to the process. I've emailed my lawyer a few days ago and told him I did not agree with this and would do my own financial disclosure. He hasn't responded yet. Anyone with experience with joint financial disclosure? I don't want to have to pay an accountant to do work that I have been doing.
