Have any of you gone the route of legal separation prior? Starting to wonder if there may be an emotional advantage at offering this to my wife prior. I want out either way, but I worry she is playing nice out of fear currently (i.e., she thinks, maybe he'll just stick around and this will blow over).

To be clear, I'm not interested in this woman being my partner in 2025 or at any later date.
