Throw everything you have a defending this, it literally defines your future. Pushing past is really easy for her to spin ... all else should be secondary. IF you don't have a good lawyer, you will lose. Even if you do, you should prepare for that eventuality. Any sort of physical contact is a big problem for you.

As for moving out / living - if you lose on the order of protection - then she gets exclusive possession of the residence. Then it becomes about having a place that's appropriate for the kids to visit. It doesn't need to be lavish - but you should have a lot of things there that the kids love and find interesting - make them really really want to spend time with you. You are deep in the game.

Going through the same thing right now. Been hopping airbnb's. As long as you have a credit card, you should be able to get those either way. It's more than renting, but you also don't have utilities, first, last, or deposit and everything is already taken care of. From my preliminary search, it's around 50% less to have monthly lease rental vs. airbnb.

So much more to this nightmare story. In 2021, she took a new job even though she was doing fine at her old job for 10 years making $200k+.

She wound up doing terribly at it (security cleared staffing) because she lied on her resume to get the job. This triggered a narcissistic collapse, which led to a psychotic breakdown that lasted for a year where she isolated, was paranoid/delusional ("I'm going to prison! We're going to lose the house, " they're" going to take the kids").

During the first and second month of this nightmare of 2022 (breakdown started with panic attacks at the end of 2021 before going full psychotic in January 2022), I was able to extract from her the truth:

She had never been faithful our entire relationship. Cheating occured throughout, while dating, engaged, even shortly after being married, and ultimately even an Ashley Madison affair while we had beautiful babies at home. She is a complete psychopath, NPD/BPD, cluster B milkshake nightmare duplicitous whore.

Throughout the year of 2022, she oscillated between weeping and raging. Infecting the entire home and every interaction with her negativity and psychotic delusion, assaulting me and the kids numerous times. I called the police several times, and they did nothing.

In April of 2022 while at her mother's house with our children, she picked up a "well hidden" gun in her mother's closet and shot it into the back of the closet. Her mother, the queen narcissist abusive piece of trash, so concerned her daughter was suicidal, left her home alone while she and her husband took our children to church.

Wife called them after shooting the gun. They came back (leaving the kids at church with friends) and tried to convince her to go to the hospital. She refused, so they called the police, thinking they would help get her to the hospital. They arrested her instead.

Next day she went to psychiatric ward, they tried to get her to volunteer to admit herself. She refused. Involuntarily committed for a week. Anti depressant prescribed, released back home.

Nightmare continues. Stops antidepressant. Psychosis continues. Looking up suicide. Finally in December 2022, I went before magistrate. Emergency custody order > temporary detention > involuntary commitment for a month. Finally, antipsychotic and antidepressant bring her out of psychotic state.

Released in January 2023. Stops medication again. Gainfully employed again (she resigned from the new job in April 2022). Even with knowledge of the fact that our entire relationship was a lie, I try again with her.

January 2024, separated but cohabitating.

Now she has joined a BDSM sex club and is posting pics of herself on FetLife.

I always wondered. In a system set up to part you from your money via a legal process known to let liars lie and cheaters cheat, what incentive would they have to give you a record and have you lose your job? Now you underatand? The judge is no dope. He knows the lies.

Is it a felony charge or misdemeanor? The latter is unlikely to affect housing. Get an attorney either way, if it's what you say and a he said / she said situation with no priors, you'll be fine.

This is why I filed for divorce and moved out. Despite what everybody says here wearing body cameras and shit I was just chilling in my peaceful apartment and playing golf all the time.

I would ask your lawyer this question. But yes to me you should secure housing while you still have some cash. In my state filing for divorce and moving out next day wasn’t even close to abandonment or anything like that. I got my equity check when my lease was up.
