Want to get a better one? Here goes: 1) $2300 per month in child support. I pay taxes on that income and she gets it tax free. 9 years to go. 2) can’t claim my kids as dependents anymore as I am a non custodial parent and she wants to claim them for the deductions. 3) no child care expense deductions. I pay for it monthly. 4) I pay all health, dental and vision for two kids but can’t deduct medical expenses as they are her dependents to claim. 5) I now have a higher tax bracket and pay more taxes from paychecks due to no dependents 6) I had to cash out stocks to buy her out of the house equity. She got that money tax free. I pay taxes (capital gains) in it for this year.

Marriage is financial suicide. But nobody tells you that when you get the marriage certificate at the court house. They smile and laugh. I know now that they were laughing at me!!!!

Ah! I get it, the government collects more money if they tax me on that $24K/yr that I pay the ex because I pay a higher marginal tax rate. What a scam, it’s like they don’t want people to get married. It’s not worth the risk boys
