I just filed for divorce in California. The attorney I have is a total generalist. I obviously didn’t do much research or read this forum beforehand it was a referral from a friend. The lawyer helped me file the divorce paperwork with joint custody request and serve stbx. I paid a 5k retainer I’m sure most of it has been eaten up. With my new found knowledge shared on this forum I’m considering contacting a family law specialist and dropping the generalist. Should I jump ship or is it too soon? Ex has not responded yet
