It’s been 6 weeks since I found out about the affair and everything blew up.

Short version… she was cheating again. Not the first time either. I stayed years ago to raise our son, pushed through a lot I shouldn’t have, and this time I just hit a wall. I was done. No more chances, no more trying to fix something that clearly wasn’t fixable.

We handled the separation about as clean as you can. We’re in NC, and we did a full separation agreement. Everything split 50/50. She waived alimony. Given the situation, she wasn’t entitled to any anyway, but it saved us a ton in legal fees and dragging things out. We kept it amicable and just got it done.

Since then, everything has changed.

I landed a new job that completely resets my career. I’m moving back home. The house is under contract at our asking price, and if everything holds through appraisal and inspection, we’ll be closing soon and fully closing that chapter too. Everything that felt stuck is finally moving.

My son got accepted into a great university near where we’re going, with a full ride. He’s coming with me. That alone makes all of this worth it.

My new company is even putting me in a brand new company car, an Audi A6 Prestige. Just a completely different life than where I was a couple months ago.

And the biggest thing…

I feel better.

I don’t miss her. At all. I don’t hate her either. I just think nothing of her now. Like a switch flipped. The anxiety is gone. The constant stress is gone. It honestly feels like a tumor has been cut out of my life.

My appetite is back. I’m back in the gym. I look better than I have in years. I wake up clear-headed. No panic. No weight on my chest.

I'll also be entering my next stage of life debt free. a very nice nest egg to restart and a new career that puts me in a position where I will have no worries financially.

I feel happy. She’s gone. She’s out of my life. I didn’t realize how bad things actually were until it was over.

If you’re in the middle of something like this right now, I get it. It feels like everything is falling apart.

But sometimes it’s not.

Sometimes it’s everything finally falling into place.
