Online you see a large variety of thoughts on cold approaching. On askwomen the opinions are mostly negative. Or they say it's bad in non-social environments. I asked my 25 YO sister about it, and she said she loves being approached and she even said that I should start doing it. On red pill forums they of course say "cold approach will show teh monkey brain females that you are the big alpha with the big balls." Pickup artists that are less redpilly say that it is a good way to get dates and set yourself apart from the ocean of dudes online. Seems like a pretty polarizing issue, you are either a creepy dude just trying to get laid, or you are the charming prince that all the women dream will show up during their grocery shopping trip. Even in videos online where people ask women this question, I notice there is very little in between with their responses. Also, if you ask old people they almost always say it's okay. For example my grandpa met my grandma by approaching her at an airport.

Personally, I'm trying to work on my social skills and I am seriously considering it. I randomly started a conversation with a girl while I was at a pharmacy in a waiting area for the covid vaccine, and it fucking worked. Got her number and a first date. So clearly this girl didn't mind. (You can look up my post history if curious). I am going to college soon and as an aspie I do horrible in group situations but I am actually pretty good with women one on one. So I don't think I will be able to meet girls in "social circles" whatever the fuck that means. But on the other hand I don't want to be labeled as some sort of cringey ass pickup artist in an environment like a college, where there isn't infinite anonymity. I think this sub might be a good neutral place to get some nuanced opinions about this.
