I have literally never seen this happen. How many times, exactly? And in what context? Also you say you've seen occasions when they would do you mean when they have or when they've stated 'oh yeah I'd totally abandon you for this guy' or what? It's just an oddly specific thing to have seen happen 'so many' times. Even if you genuinely have seen it multiple times, as stated - I never have. That means it says more about the culture and environment you are in that it does about women in general.

'Pretty privilege' is a well discussed phenomenon - people of any gender get treated better the closer they are to the societal view of 'attractive'. However, this doesn't tend to have a vast impact on people finding loving partners - there are plenty of people who would not be considered 'attractive' by the mainstream who have happy and loving relationships. The blackpill claims it isn't possible, but there are many, many couples (or other arrangements) out there which counter that view - and with such an absolute claim only one exception would disprove it, so the fact there are likely millions is more than enough.

If you want to predict people's behavior, you can't really generalize without risking a great level of failure. People are people, their behavior vastly depends on their individuality and the context they're in. You may have seen some women betraying friendships to get with a certain guy, but what about all the other instances of women who don't do that that you can't really see or never noticed? Lookism may be true to predict the behavior of certain people or in certain contexts, but you need to realize people behave in very complicated ways and in the end there are many factors concerning to how things turn out. You can't really come up with truisms like "women only like chad", "all women do this, all women do that", "it's over for me, no woman will ever like me" as if those things were axioms, because like i said it always depends on a shit load of factors.

Nothing about any of the red, blue, black, or purple pill nonsense is true.

Its a bunch of people overgeneralizing their individual experiences to blame other people or society for their loneliness and anger.

The truth about relationships is that people are unique individuals and every relationship is unique to those people and each relationship needs to be maintained differently and the only way to learn how to do that is through open and honest communication between mature consenting adults who treat each other with respect.

The problem is that parents set a bad example of how to handle relationships. Schools don't teach anything about it. And entertainment/media teaches a toxic and unrealistic approach to relationships.

So people end up learning by trial and error over time if at all.

Everyone should buy a used textbook book on counseling and learn better communication skills.

People who are into this are weird internet cranks who, by self-definition, don’t have many meaningful relationships with actual women.

But are convinced that they know more about what women think than 1) men who actually are close to real-life women, and 2) women themselves.

In short: no, not in general. It's cynicism.

In the individual case, sure, you have all kinds of messed up people doing all kinds of things. Usually though, it's reasonably healthy people being flabbergasted by the dark triad thinking about no one but themselves.

In my experience, learn to identify members of that group early and stay away, but many people aren't even aware they exist.

Unless this keeps happening to you yourself, I wouldn't worry about how many people mess up in their own life. It'll be almost impossible to determine exactly what happened, in what order, who is to blame, and how it grew over time.

I mean, they weren't friends to begin with. They simply unmasked themselves as that which they were all along. To have such a person disqualify themselves really ought to be liberating. The lesson here is, be careful who you let into your life, and even more so with who you keep around.

Never ignore the signs. If a friend of yours is lying to anyone else. And you know that as a fact, be quite sure that they're more than happy to lie to you, as well.

And yes, you will get hurt in life, and that's never quite the end of the world, either.

It should be noted that most people are "friends" with one another, or get together for almost no reason at all. And then that's how much worth they attribute to that relationship.
