I don't understand why you're saying this. Are you saying that men need to be celebrities to "be praised by society", but ordinary women get "praised by society" without being celebrities? What are you comparing this to?

What is "being praised by society" and why does it need to happen to you to be happy? 99.999 of all humans who have ever existed have not had that so it's a weird thing to present as a necessary condition to be happy.

As a white feminist, holy freaking hell I recognize my privilege.

There was an analogy I saw a few years back, though. For every privilege you have, you take a step forward. Every thing that removes you further away from the tall, relatively handsome, moderately wealthy NT white cis Herero male between the ages of 22-60, take a step back. You all have to run the same race, the same finish line, but you all have different starting points.

This arbitrary setup was created by a series of decisions meant to prop up a certain subset of men, while successfully pitting the poor against black people, or women against PoC, or women against men. Or everyone against black women. These divisions are intentional.

But the thing is, you can’t know what women go through without empathy and understanding, much like white feminists can’t know what you’re going through without that same empathy/understanding.

We both feel fear, but for different reasons. We’re both discriminated against, but for vastly different reasons. We’re ignored medically for … actually very similar reasons (the medical situation sucks, and is actually the worst for women of color).

I don’t have much to add about the advice, but pitting ourselves against one another when our real issue is literally patriarchal ideals set out by a bunch of religious white guys hundreds of years ago in order to subjugate women and non-whites, and heck, even control their own people so they can remain in power…

/sigh - I hate arbitrary boxes so much. They hurt everyone. That cis white Herero male, like most men, also are hurt by this box. They’re presumed incompetent for domestic things, told not to express their emotions (like all men), choose fields they’re not interested in because of expectations placed on them as literal babies.

There are no winners in this game, and the best we can do is work to dismantle these perceptions.

Now for the second part

So, you say you’re talentless.

I have talent, and I know lots of people with talent… it is like that step forward in the race, but most of the time it comes with a weight attached to it: when things come easy, you don’t have to work for them, and i found that I didn’t get much internal satisfaction from doing those things, you’re forced into your talent rather than your passion and you don’t learn how to work hard because things come easy until suddenly they don’t. It also takes a lot of practice for people, even if they’re good at something, to excel.

So instead of looking at yourself as talentless, ask yourself what you have passion about? What drives you? What did as a kid? Because I found my biggest motivation in life has been to help people and the environment in any capacity. This is mine, but for instance my brother is motivated by creating something, my husband is building or designing things in any capacity.

I know healers, protectors, improvers, creators, fixers, learners, adventurers, helpers, and it takes every single one of these to make the world work.

I’m really sorry you feel this way, though… it sucks.

Praise is overrated.

That’s one of the innocent joys of being a child, is you live in a world of wonder, and never once worry about validation or acceptance.

A child just does. They explore. They adventure. They live a care free life full of joy.

Children don’t need validation to be happy, to enjoy life. Why do you? If a child can find peace of mind, then surely an adult can?

I understand that validation can be useful for other goals like climbing a career ladder, but then the problem isn’t really validation, it’s about the rat race.

But to be fair, men tend to have an easier time at climbing the ladder than women. So I don’t see what you’re missing out on.

The world owes you nothing for just existing. Work hard and your circumstances will change. It won’t be overnight. It takes years of hard work to pull yourself out and to be where you want to be. People aren’t born with skills. Skills are learned. If you practiced one new skill an hour a day you would be an expert at it in a year.

G.O.D meaning generator of desires. Being human and made of matter in motion or what we call energy, at our source, you are exactly that.

Yet, what you currently desire is to attract suffering; pain etc into your life because you allow others who are suffering and blaming you for it, effect your own reality and how you perceive yourself to be in reality in relation to that.

Try to stop worrying about how others view you and focus on matching your character to how you would like it to be at every moment.

Say to yourself if you had it your way how would be? What you do? How would you think feel and behave.

Then seek out the people who have those thoughts feelings and actions and learn the skills and principles they use to have them.

I don’t think you hate being a man.

I think you may hate the person you have become, because your current actions do not align with who you would be if you were the grandest version of who you want to be in every moment, which is the purpose of life. To wake up each day and be the grandest version of yourself at every moment.

If you don’t believe this, look to those you seem to envy or wish you were.

Why are those men so desirable?

Aside from looks many of them have unshakable faith in who they are and are always the grandest version of themselves.

A great example is Dwayne the Rock Johnson.

Dwayne could have given up when he could no longer be a football player. He could have given up when he was called one of the worst wrestlers alive. He could have given up on acting.

Yet what set him apart from others who have given up was his unshakable faith in himself and his desire to always be the best he could be.

Friend. We live in a capitalist society who demands you to fill certain demands of people (be headsome, be intelligent, be charismatic). You can see that in holywood movies, where you see idealized people. Also society demands you to be able to earn money, or have skills that are good for that.

Whats the problem with that? The problem is, that goes against our personal identity. For example, i am someone who loves philosophy. Whats the problem with that? Philosophy is something that is not really "popular" and is really bad for earning money. So i prefer to focus in living for myself, making myself happy, instead of satisfy society demands.

The other thing. You are not the only one who feels alienated of society demands. There is a sociology concept called "the spiral of silence." This concept teaches that most people who have a different way of thinking that the popular or accepted one, will remain in silence. The way to defeat this, is to share your own opinion even if is unpopular, and there will appear people who support you and even share your way of thinking.

I love computers also! I say that as a web developer Dont make your preferences smaller!

I dont fully understand feminists or alpha males, but I do know that they are two sides of a very toxic coin. in a wolf pack a real apha is nothing like what these creeepy guys say it is. a real apha will be appreciated by the right woman. the alpha of a wolf pack walks behind his pack, he has the elderly lead the pack to set the pace, with the pups behind, and behind them the strong. in the the back and side by side, he and his mate bring up the rear. alpha males are monogamous fyi and they sacrifice themselves for their mate when she is in harm. these traits will be appreciated by the right woman. fucus on becoming the best person you can be. dont forget that stregth means nothing unless it is coupled with compassion. espect people to treat you with respect and treat them in turn the same. I promise most women dont want to emasculate men. we want to raise up good men.

Everything or almost everything you said is the same for women.

Most women don't get "praised" like athletes, politicians, actors/good looking people. A lot of WOC criticized white feminists for reductive takes. Many women are poor.

But besides that my heart goes out to you. Times are tough right now and you may feel extra shame because of the idea of what a man should be. What would you llike to work that you think would make you feel better?
