This is a comment I made on another subreddit that summarizes my argument that the Red Pill movement (along with other dating technique movements and media) is a better explanation for the increasing rate of suicide in males than other consequences of the mainstream use of internet (like social media and body image).

I hope this link works! Let me know what you guys think of this and if you have more sources or studies to add, please let me know, because I have this saved as a note in my phone for future reference.

Ps: Just noticed one of my source links is broken. Here’s the suicide graph. When you compare this graph to the timeline of the modern seduction movement (there’s a source there with an article discussing that), you see what appears to be a compelling correlation between the increases in suicide and the popularization of movements like Red Pill across the internet. Other arguments like drugs, poverty, diseases, education issues, and politics do not match the trajectory of this graph the way internet usage does, and other suspected culprits of increasing suicide rates having to do with the internet like social media or the use of photoshop post date the upward slope. Please read and consider the argument I’m making before posing your counter argument, because I’m getting a lot of people who are coming at me with preconceived notions of other people they’ve talked to before that they disagree with. Take the argument for what it is, and tell me what you think is more compelling than this.
