I'm not sure whether my friend's beliefs are representative of RP but he sure is RP.

Here's a comment he made:

He believes women of all ages, including teenagers, go out of their way to select the best genes for their babies and then get pregnant hoping the father's will look after the baby except they usually bolt out.

My friend believes that with all the sex ed and contraceptives women skip them in their hunt for good genes only to end up aborting?

This belief is preposterous.

Why do so many women procure abortions?

Unwanted or unplanned pregnancies.

Women can't have fought so hard for abortion especially in the US leading up to Roe v Wade where abortion before 90 days was declared a constitutional right.

Outside stable relationships women seldom intend to conceive let alone carry pregnancy.

So why would RP claim pregnancy is intentional at all times?

I suspect it props their 'mating strategy' and 'evolutionary psychology' or is it 'primatology' of hunting for the best genes.

Problem is, in humans sex is largely had for pleasure.

If conception was totally a separate function from sex I can bet there'd be no abortion and contraceptives.

The other point is single moms. He raised this point to 'prove' men should avoid single moms like plague.

I tried to see why RP beliefs would herd him to this conclusion and I reckon it is because of the alpha-beta dichotomy. Alphas get laid but betas raise kids. Raising kids of a single mom automatically makes you beta.

If women purposely seek the best genes, they end up with alphas according to RP. But conceding pregnacies are usually accidental defeats this point because if pregnancies are random then the fathers can be anything and not strictly alphas.

Insisting women purposely get pregnant is essential to the alpha fucks beta bucks cliché.
