What is your opinion on only texting for logistics?

No way. Texting is for building rapport and communication, learning someone's sense of humor, sharing your thoughts and your day. It's a connection. Not hearing from you for 10 days is crazy lol do they actually tell men to do that in rp? Only text for plans? Because that's truly horrible advice

If I'm into someone and they text only for logistics, I'm going to assume they're not that into me and Im going to move on. I'm looking for a partner who makes me feel special, not one who makes me feel awkward for texting him how his day went.

When I was a young woman, insecure and a little desperate, that kind of thing would totally keep me on the hook.... But it's totally one of those things that people call "playing games" and the older I get, the less time I have for that.

If you're into someone, be direct but not obsessive. I won't tell you that'll magically work on any woman, but it will ensure that the women you do connect with are more likely to be mature, confident, and know what they want.

Communication is key. Not to say you have to be texting all day but I mean can’t go 10 days no text either. That’s what those PUAs used to teach. Prolonging texting is a form of not being seen as needy. That doesn’t work on every woman. That’s why this whole game, picking up woman, red pill stuff is crap. They all talk in extremes and that doesn’t work in the real world.

First, the texting for logistics is not a "red pill" concept. That is a common PUA practice. The reason for it is simple: if you haven't gone on a date and spent too much time going back and forth via text, you end up having a lot of the "getting to know you" conversations without any emotional connection you get with the in-person interaction.

Where people screw up is that AFTER you on a date and she has shown interest, it is perfectly fine to have short conversations via text. In your case, since she was going on vacation for 2 weeks, I would have texted her a few days in to ask how she is enjoying wherever she was, or possibly even set up an evening phone call to maintain the connection you established on your date. Towards the end of her vacation, I would have tried to set up a second date (either via text or on a phone call).

What you don't want to do is go completely off the grid for an extended period of time while you are just getting to know someone. They will think you have low interest if you disappear for that long and/or will run into someone else that has interest.

That said, I'm assuming her vacation has ended and she has not responded or reached out?

I kind of agree with you regarding texting and also think you fucked up (and that that's okay, because you two were perhaps not as good a match as you might think).

Texting gives a false sense of intimacy and thus should be avoided in favour of other forms of communication. It's much better to meet in person (or just have a phone call if you can't meet).

Having said that, when she told you that you 'suck at texting' what she was really telling you was that you had not been paying her as much attention as she would have liked. This leads you to two options: either find a woman who also doesn't like texting (and trust me, there women like that), or next time you meet somebody like your ex, try to compromise (either agree on regular phone calls if that's more convenient for you, or just text her to ask her about her day and add a few compliments or something).

Personally, I rarely chit-chat via text. It's a personality thing. Sometimes a friend and I will have chit-chat-text rapport for awhile, but it always fizzles because I don't like it i guess. I HATE it when my phone has alerts; it makes me feel that people are demanding things of me, they are demanding my attention -- so my replies are really slow, short, uninteresting. However, other people rather than feeling bad about alerts on their phone feel them to be an invitation, a welcome invitation to chit-chat, and a sign that you are thinking about them, a sign that they are seen and valued in the world.

For me, I just don't gel well with people who want that kind of chit-chatty text relationship. My current partner when we first met used to text me "good night, I love you" every night we were not together; it was a LOT for me to decide that he was very worth it and that I should at least respond to him with "love you too." Ordinarily, I would not have done that, but my partner is like 100% Grade A Awesome, so.

This is merely a compatibility/personality issue, there is no "correct" or "best practices." ALthough I sense most younger people want to chit-chat via text and are addicted to alerts, rather than hating them as I do (I'm frickin 40, so it might be an age thing!).

Yes. Texting is so important. It allows people to articulate themselves on a more prepared level than in person. It 100% builds connections. Texting can be super fun and flirtatious!

Yes the lack of texting turns me off because I don't get to know them and I'm supposed to be in an intimate and physical scenario with them later? There was a guy I was really into until he was red pilled. He stopped texting me unless it was to hang out. Felt very disconnected and gross like a booty call. Naturally I cut him off because he wouldn't listen to what I needed. Probably thought the PUA knows more than women since they always seem to say things like "women dont know what they want". The texting advice is for people with zero game and personality to attract low hanging fruit. A genuine connection will welcome the texting as long as the guy isn't clingy.

The advice to keep texting for setting appointments is fine. However, if she shows interest there is nothing wrong.
