It's not to say that looks don't matter. Ofcourse there needs to be a level of physical attraction in a relationship as in you don't want to be with someone you find physically repulsive. I guess what the post is trying to say is not to be bambozzled by a goodlooking person that you lower your standards and needs. And to make sure that you hold him to the same standards as you would to other average to decent looking men.

Looks matter, PERIODT. Make sure you are physically attracted to someone as well. Don't settle ladies you can have all of it and then some.

After dating ugly guys pretty much my entire 20s oh hell no I'm ready for someone hot. But my idea of hot includes features of maturity. I dated a muscular guy who couldn't dress himself. Or a super tall guy who was ghost pale from never going outside. Then a nicely tanned guy who never washed his hair. Always fucking something. It's no longer counting as hot to me. They have to know self care not just lucky genetics. Self care usually points towards other good qualities.

After my experience with my narcissist model/bodybuilder NVM, I've given up on my physical ideals 100%. All my life I dated guys who fit my idea of physical attractiveness. They were all pieces of shit, every single one of them. So now I don't care. They can have beard or not, they can have long hair or not, they can have blue eyes or hairy chest, whatever. What they can't do is be disrespectful, ignore my boundaries, in general be LVM. Of course finding someone who I find physically attractive AND high value would be perfect, but as long as he's well groomed and well dressed, I'm not fussy about looks. I am however very fussy about getting respect.

I realized that when I felt like most of the guys were dating were good looking but my god they all annoyed me to no end. I don’t know but they’d always say something stupid or made me questioned how dumb they were or thought I was. I wanted them to shut up. Looks just mean I shouldn’t cringe when looking at you that’s it. It’s your intelligence and the way you treat me and others that will let me fall for you. If you have horrible morals and ignorant views of the world and specifically women, I don’t care how well you treat me. I need to be able to have a deep conversation without getting a DAP.

I had to explain this to a male friend, who every time I decided to cut it off with a guy he assumed it was because of his looks or because he was “too nice.”
