It's manipulative when purposefully absent fathers feign sadness and grief over not being with their child.

When I was a teenager I used to watch my dad use false victimhood to groom otherwise confident women into becoming anxious. His favorite tool was the parent card. He'd yell and do all of these things to prove he was "trying so hard!". And the woman would be there soothing him in his time of anger🙄🙄.... After this he'd explain why he hasn't spoken to his children in 7 years!!!!!!!!!!! Sis, like WHAT???

Anyone here watch the trash reality tv show “love after lockup”? This is exactly what one of the scummiest dudes on the show does.

Completely ignores his daughter except for when he can use her to endear himself to whichever woman he is bullshitting at the time and of course they buy into it and believe his wife/babymomma is the evil one that’s “keeping him from his kids”.

My ex got removed from the home by police for dv. It was crazy traumatic and the kids witnessed it all. Judges gave him supervised visits

He wanted sleep overs.

I was like hell no and so he told everyone I was withholding his children from him 🙄

Real shit. My Dad pulled this on his third wife. He was drunk and armed and went banging on the door of her new bf's house. Once he was let in, he stopped asking about his child and started asking where to find the new bf and going throughout the house looking for him and threatening to kill him. Luckily, new bf had his own gun. It went through my dad's shoulder. New bf stopped the bleeding til the ambulance arrived. I went to new bf's house to pick up my dad's truck and told him to his face I didn't blame him for what he did. I always thought he 100% deserved what he got, but he spent the rest of his life angry that the bf shot him and angry that he never got "justice". His wife went back to him right after that, but when he died she wasted absolutely zero time getting remarried to an old high school flame. And I'm happy for her. We send each other cards and visit once a year.
