Lmao, depending on where you live, even the most basic courthouse wedding is more expensive than that. I've just checked, in many states a mere wedding licence is around 60-80 dollars.

I loooove my wedding ring. Hubs had a friend custom make it based on designs I liked but couldn't find in gold with a 7 stone setting. That said, the diamond trade is toxic and knowing what I know now, if I did it again I'd rather have a man made stone. They sell them for really reasonable prices but you have to go looking. That would still show more effort than Walmart garbage.

I commented that it would matter to me that he cared so little to pick out a nice ring, doesnt even have to be crazy expensive, but its something that will be on my hand forever and should be thoughtful. Omg let me just say I was ATTACKED by these women saying things like i have a walmart ring, and he could put a twisty tie on my finger and this that and the other. It's a wedding ring. I don't want a real diamond (artificially inflated prices and blood diamonds) and I don't want to spend an insane amount of money we could use for the wedding or a nice trip for our honeymoon. But I would like some effort. It's still a wedding ring. If you can't afford to spend some money on it,then maybe you should wait for marriage until you have some more savings and if you do have money and still by something so cheap and low quality? That's an indicative on how he will be during the marriage. Doing the absolute bare minimum and not even that and still expecting praise (same as he expects the woman to unironically say yes toa Walmart ring proposal)
