Look at what's happening in Turkey. Women are literally being beaten by their partners in the streets. A 90 year old woman was raped and then murdered. 90 fucking years old. I'm so tired. Men need to fucking do better and stop blaming us

I do however, find it a bit ironic that in the video, they are talking about the use of passive voice when discussing violence against women, but then immediatelly use passive again when they say "the conversation needs to reframed." No. There is no need to reframe the conversation, you only need to start listening to women. Women have been framing it correctly from the outset. We know who the problem is, but you haven't been listening.

Trevor Noah knows first hand about violence against women. While I dont know if he is the ideal HVM his mother was shot by her husband (not Trevor's father) after years of beating her. In South Africa and many african countries there are no shelters or help when a woman is being abused. The police show up maybe to break up the situation and tell the guy to keep his beatings more private next time (not verbatim but they do not get reprimanded at all). Some even commiserate with the man about the struggles they too have to keep a woman in check. You have to have relatives that love you that you can run to and shield you if you unknowingly get involved with a monster. Even when Trevor's mom got shot in the head if I remember correctly, absolutely nothing happened to him. He ends his book with this story. I will never forget it.
