Hello everyone so I wanted to update you all on my healing journey and getting back into the dating scene. I made a post on here a few months ago Diary of a Recovering Pickmeisha about my experiences with men, physical abuse, and rape. I have been in the process of a turning a new page with therapy, medication, and healthy dating tactics to get back on the scene :)

Here’s the dilemma. I am interested in this guy who has been wanting to date me since 2018. We talk almost everyday and I am doing well at setting boundaries. We went on a date the other night and we had a decent time, howeverrrrrr when we pulled up, the restaurant was not what I expected. It was Maggianos. Now let me say this, I love that restaurant however I’ve been there at least 50 times with my family so I was a bit bored of it. To be quite honest, I was expecting a Nobu/Mastros kind of thing lol. I told him I wanted to go to a steakhouse and he chose Italian? We were even seated by the bar? Like wtf 😂 lol.

Anywho. After some conversation (and renewed confidence in setting boundaries) I told him that If he wants to take this seriously, that I didn’t feel comfortable with him saying he was friends with someone I was in a 4 year long situationship with. (I was under the impression that they were cordial and just knew of each other, however not to the extent where he would publicly promote his birthday) He did not understand why I said that, and did not feel that he should distance himself from someone that had put me through devastating pain and manipulation.

The next night, he drives me back from the club and after a few drinks I say to him in a joking manner “I need to have my phone in case you try to do anything” I remember laughing and joking as I do have a bit of a dark humor to make light of my trauma, but the guy FLIPS out gets livid and KICKS ME OUT THE CAR.

I know my I’m still in the process of healing but did I say something out of line? Lol
