Yep, and in many countries around the world to this day, women are forced into what amounts to essentially purdah. Yet even that does not save them; they are still beaten, r*ped and murdered on a whim by males and they don't have the social/legal/financial latitude to advocate for themselves.

Statistically, women are more likely to be harmed by people (men) that they know. Yet the idea persists that if only women would disappear from society they would be safe. Women simply existing is considered provocation, hell, it's permission, for violence.

Let's be honest, even if all women around the globe founded an all-female colony underground and never interacted with men at all, that absurd scenario would STILL not guarantee female safety from males. They would do anything and everything to find that colony and infiltrate it so they can continue using and abusing women as they please.

Males should be taught not to attack and rape. Very simple solutions to a problem that is often blamed on women. "Well, you shouldn't have worn that/gone out by yourself/etc." Fuck that. Teach men not to attack women. Problem solved.

What I also find interesting about the role reversal is that it would be more effective. If men were made to have the curfew, it would be safer than a curfew for women.

Has anyone seen that movie Stardust? Claire Danes stars as the North Star, who has fallen to earth and is being hunted by various parties. At one point, a spell is cast on a character, who has angered the spell caster. The spell prevents this person from seeing, hearing, sensing, touching, etc. the star (Claire). Even if the star (Claire) is standing directly in front of them.

I would like that kind of invisibility from men. The freedom to walk around in the world. Now, that would be more effective than curfews for anyone.

That's a really great way of looking at things. None of the women who went out late were looking to get attacked, and some men who did were in fact looking for someone to attack, so really, why is it women who should stay at home?

The fact that we have to explain this kills me internally. Imagine thinking you're the "better gender" yet women with education, dictation and academia language and knowledge have to explain concepts to you like a toddler with pictures and tiny words. Crimes, especially sexual crimes, have risen in london? After importing thousends of young men from countries where women are treated like trash as the default? gasp They didnt change their ways coming here? They just started treating london women as bad as they treated women in their country? Who would have thought that this wpuld ever happen? Sorry for this, Im just effing tired of womens and girls lifes and secutiry being ruined for the only sake of DivErSiTy When even POC women are suffering for those means you know the whole diversity shtick is bullcrap.
