The latest trick in a PUA or f**kboy's book is to dress as if they are rich, (or how they think a rich or interesting man would dress like) to attract women. This is called peacocking. I don't mean Gucci shirts or tracksuits that say FENDI FENDI FENDI. We already know those guys are clowns who live beyond their means. I am talking high-quality suits, classic blazers, J. Crew prep attire, the old WASP-y look, understated elegance, Esquire modern male fashion, and purposely eye-catching attire. Men have realized that if they invest a bit in their wardrobe, it is an instant way to build social credibility. They appear more trustworthy, more confident, more well-off, more competent, or more interesting whether or not they are any of those things. In fact, guys have started to realize the importance of appearance in business settings. Simply upgrading their clothing game can easily lead to more success. And it is all a front. Their expertise level doesn't change, their trustworthiness doesn't change, nothing does. But having the smoke and mirrors of being well-dressed allows them to put on a mask or a facade of being a well-off, confident guy, and they consequently start behaving in the world as if they are THAT guy. They're not. But they drink their own kool-aid and get away with a lot simply because they have figured out how differently they're treated when they dress better. Do not be fooled.

I've noticed an uptick of LVM on OLD who are peacocking or displaying subtle tells of supposed "wealth" when they're really nothing special in any sense of the word, in order to attract women. You don't know if he's actually rich or not (most likely not). But most importantly, you do know he is making a conscious and calculated decision to be showy and ostentatious, and he purposefully puts on a facade of being a certain "type", and that in itself is a yellow flag to watch out for. This group of men are basically comfortable with using manipulation and psychological tactics to affect how people treat them, which is a yellow flag in itself.

So just be aware of this kind of calculated prep/moneyed look and peacocking, make no mistake, it is a decision a man makes to present himself this way in order to get greater results at work, in business, and with women. He is not his true self, he is trying on a facade of what he wishes he was and not revealing his authentic personality.
