How to turn a drinks date to a dinner date?

Hmm. I would probably say something like "I don't particularly like the bar scene" or "I actually don't drink, but we could do dinner?"

I actually don't drink and I don't like the bar scene, but they just happen to be good excuses for me and they usually work.

One time, I said "Oh, good luck then. I'm not into casual dating". He stepped the fuck up real quick.

But honestly...you like him. And he thinks you're only worth a drink. Really think about this; it's not worth it.

You can't make him put forth effort that he isn't willing to put forth, and you can't make him buy you a meal that he doesn't want to buy.

I know that you're interested in him, but if he was interested in you, he'd ask you out to dinner. He's setting the bar low on purpose.

I actually just blocked a guy from tinder because he asked me for drinks. I told him that’s wasn’t the sort of date I was used to and then basically there was a short back and fort where he said “I don’t know you well enough to know what sort of date would be appropriate”. I debated telling him flat out I expected dinner but decided against it as his comment had made me tired of the conversation and blocked him
