Not taking even the slightest whiff of shit off men is key. So magically 45% of men and 3% of women say the men do more quarantine schooling. And the rest of the survey just slides off even further into the men don’t pull their own weight shitter.

The comments on the NYT article are a slice of life look under the hood of domestic life that is made onerous by men’s work blindness and vampire entitlement attitudes about the lesser value of things they can get someone else to do.

Are we surprised lol? I can't remember what publication put out this article a while back that was mainly quotes from women about their housework situation. One said the only way she settled it and made things equitable was writing down every single thing each of them did on a Google doc. Only w/ a whole ass list in front of him did her husband see it wasn't 50/50 like he thought.

Or another woman was like "a divorce worked like a charm" lmao. That's so unnecessary tho, it's sad :/.

My parents have been together 40+ yrs, married for 33, and each of them has their roles. I have seen myself the physical labor split has always been pretty even, the mental, not really sure how it was when I was a kid. But I asked my mom when I read the article how she felt about the split since my childhood and she said it was even enough.

She noted that's also because she refuses to take on more than is hers in their unspoken agreement. She's been asking my dad to clean the basement for 25 years and she will not touch a thing down there, because she knows if she does, what's the point of asking him? She's shown she'll do it. I think a lot of women, it's our natural inclination to just jump in and do, rather than be like nah this is yours. I think women also just get tired of asking, or there are some things they can't just let sit until the husband does it - like the kids education.

TL;DR: don't marry a scrote lol
