I left my abusive husband in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, despite being disabled and having 3 young kids. Last year I moved us all across the country to get even further away from him. We’re starting our new life in 2022 in peace and safety and surrounded by loving family.

Not dating related, I hope this isn't too off-topic.

I bought and built a new garden shed in 2021, including digging out the burrow that I found under the old shed's foundation, which undermined (literally lol) my old shed and caused it's demise.

I love gardening: my shed is my shelter when I'm out there and the rain starts. I love having it organized with my beautiful old wooden handled tools on display. I am enjoying building shelves and adding tool hooks, it is basic carpentry but satisfying to look at the interior and know I did that work by the skill of my hands and the sweat of my brow. My house may be messy but my shed won't be, there is a place for everything and I'm currently getting everything back into it's place in time for the busy seasons in the garden this year.

I broke up with a loser and dropped toxic friends. got a promotion, went on my first ever vacation, dropped the concept of polyamory, and am now in a loving monogamous relationship with a thus-far HVM who is the first person I’ve ever considered marriage with (he actually kickstarted the process of me stepping away from that lifestyle by expressing how he only ever wanted monogamy with me…made me realize I was valued and could be “enough” for one person).

Thanks for asking, it's a good exercise!

I ran a PB 10k (beating my previous by 7 minutes!) and a PB half marathon.
I froze my eggs and got a great result.
I saved a hell of a lot of cash and had an offer accepted on my first property (although it's not gone through yet so mustn't self-congratulate too much at this stage...).
I did some quasi-successful internet dating and showed myself that it doesn't have to be painful. As part of this, I dated a guy I found incredibly attractive and realised what an absolute gulf there is between that experience and dating a man you think is just okay. A worthy lesson...
I got promoted at work.
I levelled up my appearance.
I started therapy.

In 2021, I finished my Master's degree, got an incredible promotion at work, and became a people manager for the first time. My net worth also went up 20%, which is wild, mainly due to the value of my home.

Im off all psychiatric meds, which is honestly huge for me considering my past. I've grown so much emotionally while making moves in my career, and its nice to see me slowly recover my vibrancy from all these icky forces in my past.

Plenty of hard times as I continually dive into my pain in order to heal, but the fact that I stay committed to the process shows what an incredible person I am.

Still getting waves of trauma processing from my last relationship, but it truly feels like I've closed the door on a whole host of trauma responses that were trying to destroy me.

Life is crazy but I'm winning ❤

I... changed jobs. And while the base pay didn't really change at all, I now have 4 hours less per week and get time off for worked overtime instead of getting it paid out. While, fincancially speaking, this isn't a good deal, it does wonders for my overall well-being.

I also struggle with weight - mine usually fluctuates. It seems like I'm now at the lowest I've been in 8 years. No real diet, no working out (beyond work, lol), but reduced sweets and only eating if hungry. It may not seem like much, but I managed to lose 10 kg (22 pounds) since September, when I was growing close to my upper range - and that despite it being just after December. I'm still overweight, but hopefully, I'll be getting "there" soon.

Also, around April or May, I decided to not buy alcohol any more. Not that I was addicted, but I noticed that I was starting to enjoy it too much. And I mostly stuck to it. In October, I bought one bag of alcohol-containing sweets. But that's it. (However, I got way too many Mon Cheri over Christmas... still working on them, tbh. Once they're gone, I'll go back to no alc.)

1) started and finished divorce 2) refinanced the house I kept, 2% lower interest rate (ex never wanted to do smart things like refi for lower rates). 3) instituted substantial retirement savings and HSA savings so I can minimize my taxes and, you know, retire some day. 4) replaced two toilets myself 5) ordered new house siding 6) bought basement LVP flooring I’ll install this year myself 7) installed LVP in my bathroom 8) paid off my primary vehicle and last but certainly not least, 9) discovered FDS!

I started learning a new language, I plan to continue and visit that country and others that use that language.

I earned my black belt in karate, instructed some kickboxing classes, had my first taste at a competition, and started in a new fighting program.

For the fitness assessment, I did superb and was told that the head of our location said I was obviously the most prepared, that I am on a whole other level, and he’d never seen anything like it (especially makes me happy as he’s been in martial arts for several decades and is high ranking).

All of these were done while a lot of crap was going on in my private life. Due to that and my dedication, I received one of the few awards at the banquet thrown after the final exam.

I broke a one inch white pine board with my fist, and two more boards with my elbow. No tricks, they were freshly cut boards from the local building materials store.

There’s another competition coming up soon.

I never thought I would do well in martial arts, certainly not enough to earn a black belt nor instruct, nor be strong enough to break solid wood boards.

I’m going this year for 1st dan. A whole other set of challenges for me. Which I welcome and find miles better than being dragged down by some envious scrote.

Not romance related since i am off with online dating and bar/meetup ..

Last few months until early january 2022, My initial weight was 120 lbs (54 kg) and my current weight is 100 lbs (45 kg) I have lost almost 9 kg (20 lbs) by intermittent fasting, weekly water fasting and regular light exercises 😀 i am so glad after trial and error i finally achieve my dream weight and body,

Hopefully my story can be inspiration for any FDS sisters who want to lose weights as NY resolution
