I came across this article: Millennials only hold 3% of total US wealth, and that's a shockingly small sliver of what baby boomers had at their age.

When boomers were roughly the same age as millennials are now, they owned about 21% of America's wealth, compared to millennials' 3% share today.

In the chart you can see that Boomers have been and are much wealthier than Gen Xrs and millennials, and Gen Xrs have been and are a little wealthier than millennials. Millennials are so incredibly broke compared to previous generations.

As someone who wants to marry across or up wealth-wise, it sucks that this is the case. The college I went to was 60% female, and the boys there acted disgustingly entitled bc they had so many options. This is consistent with the nationwide trend of women earning more degrees than men. Another issue this brings up is that it's shown time and time again that men are not attracted to women who are more successful than they are. Once I was on a date with a LVM who seemed really into me. He asked me what my greatest accomplishment was and I told him I wrote a book. It was comical/depressing how fast he lost interest as he went into an insecurity spiral.

I tried dating older but found the older man/younger woman dynamic inherently unhealthy and imbalanced. Men who are into younger women are predators, surprise! I feel like the trend of dating older men (and sex work) is due to millennial women being broke and older men exploiting that. Yet it's hard to find men my age who make money and check off the other boxes of compatibility. It's hard to find men of any age who aren't narcissistic abusers. All my successful, gorgeous female friends are either dating broke men, abusers, or are single. At this point I'm basically WGTOW and focusing on leveling up. If a prince were to come along I might consider, but I'm not holding my breath.

At least we got that gender pay gap and workplace sexism to artificially boost men's wages! /s
