Always have a female best friend you can depend on, that you will never have a romantic spark with. You want someone with clear eyes and a more objective view that has your best interests in mind. Also, it is easier to date and have a healthy relationship if you have a strong sense of self. Being clear about what you like and don’t like, your boundaries and your own support group will make it harder for abusers to control you. It also makes it easier for you to pick out guys that you do really like, not just that they seem to like you. Lastly, have standards- not just for men, but for yourself.

Don't give men the benefit of the doubt before they have earned it. We have to assume the worst of them until they've done enough things that show us otherwise. This isn't a court of law, they're fucking guilty unless proven innocent 😂

I'm naturally a very giving, empathetic person so it's been a journey to get this point but it has improved my life in everyway. Mentally and emotionally, I have so much less stress and anxiety. Tell me how I have been able to save more money for a new apartment AND upgrade my wardrobe AND allocate more towards retirement investment since kicking out my loser ex last summer, when I had a supposed partner contributing financially??

It's ridiculous....but never again ladies! 2020 has been off to a good start for me so far and having this group of like-minded women is really important. Women who believe we deserve to be more than mommies to grown men and unpaid prostitutes that chase and prove our worth, are difficult to come across in real life.

The most important thing I’ve learned is that I’m not wrong for having certain standards. I have been shamed so many times, by men and women both, for having high standards such as expecting men to pay for dates, to delay sex until I’m truly comfortable and established in a relationship, and so on. I really, truly have been made to feel crazy by others for having high standards. I’ve been told I’m not a true feminist for expecting men to pay, that men need a sexual connection before pursuing something serious, etc, and I sometimes feel like I’m being gaslighted into accepting less than I deserve.

You ladies provide a haven when it comes to having found a like-minded community that validates what I’ve always known to be true: I’m allowed to have my standards and to guard my body and energy. I’ve been called a princess but that is incorrect, I am a queen 👸🏻
