Just a reminder you can be of average income and not be cheap. Cheap meaning you don't put thought into anything or think about how your partner would feel. It makes me cringe knowing this probably happens often and many men don't think twice about it.

I cried when my ex got me an ugly jewelry set (half of which didn't fit and was absolutely not my style). He told me how he had found it in a store years ago and finally bought it and how special it was to him and how he wanted ME to have it after all these years.

Knowing his dating history, the small embers of FDS still burning inside me were yelling "he bought it for another girl who rejected hiiim" but I was like shut up shut up HE PICKED ME TO HAVE IT.
